  1. 'It was pretty intense'published at 18:36 Greenwich Mean Time 19 December 2021

    FT: Spurs 2-2 Liverpool

    Liverpool

Liverpool's Diogo Jota to Sky Sports: "They haven't had a game for two weeks and we've been playing. It was pretty intense. Ten men in the end doesn't help."

On Andy Robertson's red card: "It is what it is. We lost the tempo there but it happens in football."

Was a point fair? "It's hard to say fair in football. The amount of chances both teams had, a point is OK."

  2. 'Absolutely sensational game'published at 18:31 Greenwich Mean Time 19 December 2021

    FT: Spurs 2-2 Liverpool

    Ray Houghton
Former Liverpool and Republic of Ireland midfielder

It was an absolutely sensational game from the first minute to the last. Tottenham were very good in patches and they had the gilt-edged opportunities that they didn't take. Some were bad misses and some were down to great goalkeeping. As a contest, it was riveting.

The Tottenham fans will be overjoyed with the attitude of their players today.

Liverpool didn't get the win they would have wanted, but overall it is a good point for them.

    3. Chelsea - 38 pts
    4. Arsenal - 32 pts
    5. West Ham - 28 pts
    6. Man Utd - 27 pts
    7. Spurs - 26 pts
  4. Postpublished at 18:28 Greenwich Mean Time 19 December 2021

    Spurs 2-2 Liverpool

Harry Kane ended a goal drought and should have been sent off, Liverpool came back to lead (with a handball involved in one goal), then Spurs equalised. And then Andy Robertson was sent off.

Oh and there could have been a few penalties.

    Classic.

It's all over. A game we all really needed I think.

  8. Postpublished at 90+5 mins

    Spurs 2-2 Liverpool

Liverpool are almost in! Alisson pumps a long ball to Kostas Tsimikas, who breaks into the box but his ball to Mohamed Salah is cut out by Davinson Sanchez.

  9. Postpublished at 90+3 mins

    Spurs 2-2 Liverpool

Is this the chance for Spurs? No. Harry Kane fires in a low cross and Son Heung-min shoots at the near post. Saved by Alisson. And offside anyway.

Shout out to Ryan Sessengon today, kept Mo Salah silent and busy on the left wing. Hope he gets a run in the side under Conte.

  16. Postpublished at 18:17 Greenwich Mean Time 19 December 2021

    Spurs 2-2 Liverpool

    Ray Houghton
Former Liverpool and Republic of Ireland midfielder

The attitude of both sets of players has been excellent. In the past few minutes they have been driving forward to get the winning goal.

  17. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 87 mins

    Spurs 2-2 Liverpool

A rare Ryan Sessegnon appearance is over as Sergio Reguilon replaces him.

  18. Postpublished at 86 mins

    Spurs 2-2 Liverpool

A lovely Spurs passing move round the box sees Ben Davies in space but his ball across the six-yard box is hooked over by Ibrahima Konate. I think Davies was offside anyway - although it's still a corner.

    The corner comes to nothing.

  19. YELLOW CARDpublished at 85 mins

    Spurs 2-2 Liverpool

Ibrahima Konate is booked for a foul now. The referee let play go on and James Milner, again, denies Son Heung-min.

How has Kane stayed on but Robertson is off? Kane's challenge was much worse.

    Monty, London.

It's VAR not doing anything about the Kane tackle that makes that hard to take. Should have at least sent the ref to look at that one too.
