    Everton have put Villa under real pressure. It's been much better this second half. They have been more positive and shown more energy.

    Anthony Gordon has been a real plus.

    It's tough to turn it round in three days, but the Everton players have really played for the crowd and their manager.

    Villa, though, have defended their box and done what they had to do.

    [The January transfer window] is a tough one for Everton. There is no head of recruitment, no permanent manager, there is no scout, so how do they bring players in?

    They need players, they need reinforcements. Especially in the midfield area. We are nearly at the end of January and they need to bring players in.

    The managers they are speaking to have to have these questions. Does that mean a manager has to be appointed sooner rather than later, or does Duncan Ferguson get given the chance to bring in his own players and be given a contract to the end of the season.
