England have found themselves in a horrible position defensively. Really messy. All of a sudden Hungary have the opportunity to score. Pickford parries the shot and what a miss. He just has to put it under the crossbar.

Jordan Pickford keeps England in the match with a flying stop to deny substitute Laszlo Kleinheisler.

England were caught on the counter and that was almost game, set, match.

Harry Kane has not been in those key areas enough. I can only really remember him having that one shot early on. He has almost been distracted by having to be involved in the build-up and trying to get England going. It is not really his responsibility, although he feels the pressure to fulfil that role.

England are running out of time. They are unbeaten in nine games since losing the European Championship final on penalties to Italy last July. Is that record about to end?

We couldn't be better placed to see the line of that. It was literally, bang on going to hit the back post but the spin pushes it a bit wide. It was a good free-kick and Coady's glancing header just wide of that far post.

That's agonisingly close!

The set-piece is swung into box, Conor Coady gets the faintest of touches and his header is a whisker away from finding the net.

Jarrod Bowen is running down a dead end but still manages to win his side a free-kick out wide deep inside Hungary's half.

There hasn't been much to get excited about this England performance but Bowen has been one of the few bright sparks.

It was already noisy inside the Puskas Arena but the noise levels have gone through the roof since the hosts took the lead. The tens of thousands of children in the crowd are yelling each time a red shirt touches the ball.

Harry Kane is waving his hand in the air to say 'just knock it back across the goal'. He was in that central area. If Bowen had squared it he might have got on the end of it. You can't blame Bowen for going for goal, though.

Hungary on top and they make their first change. Laszlo Kleinheisler is on for Roland Sallai.

Moments later a chance for England as Jarrod Bowen shows great technique but his volley is straight at the keeper.

A reminder that Hungary have not beaten England since 1962.

They're 20 minutes or so plus stoppages from doing it in front of 30,000 screaming kids!

VAR did check the decision for the penalty which was allowed to stand.

England have it all to do now if they are to protect their long unbeaten record.

Well, I'm getting a view of this on the replay and that looks a little bit harsh. It is such a contentious one, There is contact but such is the tenacity of this Hungary team, they don't give anything up. Nagy is driving for the ball and the body weight and arm has come across him.

It is a top penalty, cool and calm into the corner. The goal has been coming. The pressure was building and England weren't getting hold of the ball.
