How do I put this kindly? This has not been a classic.

The first half is petering out. It's been sprinkled with some bright moments but there is much for England to work on.

I feel England only really look like they are capable of opening Hungary up when they have that big switch of play. The home side are so narrow, trying to keep everything condensed in the middle of the park. Hitting that long switch and suddenly the space is there to exploit.

Those horns were great for the first 10 minutes. Now I've got a thumping headache.

A reminder that Gareth Southgate has the likes of Tammy Abraham, Bukayo Saka and Raheem Sterling on the bench. They are surely going to come into the manager's thinking in the second half.

Harry Maguire wins a corner and Trent Alexander-Arnold leathers it over the heads of everyone inside the crowded penalty area, and it rolls out for a goal kick.

I get the feeling that Bellingham is playing like he has a point to prove. The way he has started this game, looking to set about the pitch and on to any loose balls. Can he show in games where he needs to win a second ball? It is not all about glossy movement. It is about anticipation to win balls. He has done that well so far.

There's a long way to go in this but England are struggling to open up Hungary, who are more confident pushing forward.

The Three Lions have had just one attempt on goal, which will be a concern for Gareth Southgate.

Wow, what an effort! Fantastic vision from Szalai. And let me tell you, Jordan Pickford is scrambling. It has the perfect height and distance. If it doesn't swerve, it is in. It is about two feet wide in the end. A great effort. Spotted him off his line, swivelled and hit it.

    Hungary 0-0 England

Brilliant vision by Adam Szalai, who spots Jordan Pickford well off his line and attempts to embarrass the England keeper from around the halfway line.

It's not a bad attempt! Pickford was scampering back as the ball whizzed past him and dropped narrowly wide.

Well, it was Zsolt Nagy with the shot but how about the vision from Szoboszlai? Ball gets rolled into midfield and Bellingham tries to do too much and loses it. The Hungary player knows exactly what he wants to do and where the run is. He doesn't even look. Nagy took it early and Pickford had to parry it wide.

Hungary are decent on the counter and Jordan Pickford is forced into another save this time from Zsolt Nagy from an angle.

It results in a corner which comes to nothing.

It surprises me a little bit that James Justin is back on. He pulled up and waved to the bench. Normally that means 'I have really felt something'. He is back on to see how it goes. He has done a lot of running so far.

The good news is Justin is back on the pitch as Trent Alexander-Arnold attempts to spark another attack.

    That's not good.

James Justin takes a whack on the back of his calf and requires treatment. He's able to climb to his feet and goes off for treatment. Fingers crossed this is not a disappointing end to his debut.

Fair play to the kids in the crowd. Non-stop noise. There's a constant buzz and sound from those air horns.

There is a good flow to this game. Both teams are having little waves of attacks. When England get the ball they have nice movement off it. This formation that Gareth Southgate has picked allows for those runners from deep and wide areas.

James Justin is getting forward at every opportunity and he wins England a free-kick just outside the box which Jarrod Bowen overcooks.

Justin was brought down by Andras Schafer, who picks up the game's first booking.

Encouraging performances from England's two debutants. Both have been involved in some of the brightest moves so far.
