  1. Ramsey arrives at Ibroxpublished at 21:14 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2022

We're seeing pictures of ex-Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey arriving at Ibrox, hoping to seal a loan move from Juventus.

If Rangers get the deal done, Ramsey's first match could be against Celtic away on Wednesday.

What a signing it would be for Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side if they get this one done.

  2. 'Watford deficiencies addressed early'published at 21:10 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2022

    Watford

    Matt Rowson, bhappy.wordpress.com

While focus has been on the latest change at the helm [with Roy Hodgson replacing Claudio Ranieri], it’s significant how quickly Watford addressed the squad’s most obvious deficiencies in the opening days of the January window in contrast to more limited activity elsewhere.

How adequate these recruits will prove to be time will tell, but for now Kamara, Samir and Kayembe address deficiencies at left back, centre back and defensive midfield respectively, while more recently Samuel Kalu, our fifth Nigerian recruit since the summer, came in to provide cover for Sarr on the right.

With 28 senior pros over the age of 21 there will need to be outgoings. Danny Rose will not make the 25; others may be parked at Udinese, their ongoing usefulness dependent on which division we play in next season.

  8. Hendrick on way to London?published at 20:56 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2022

    Alistair Magowan
    BBC Sport

After four signings, or likely five when Dan Burn joins the club from Brighton, Newcastle might need to offload a few players.

One of them is likely to be midfielder Jeff Hendrick, who has played more times for the Republic of Ireland than he has Newcastle this season.

The 30-year-old, who celebrates his birthday today, has been linked with a loan to Middlesbrough and QPR, with a move to London most likely. But I'm told it could go down to the wire.

Stuart: Multiple managers have watched Donny Van De Beek and thought he wasn't good enough to be starting in Man Utd's midfield which is fairly damning statement considering how bad the midfield actually is. Hope it works out at Everton but I have some doubts he's up to the task in Prem.

  14. 'Eriksen return is remarkable'published at 20:34 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2022

    Adam Crafton
Reporter for The Athletic, speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live's Monday Night Club

On a human level, where Christian Eriksen was at the Euros, it's an incredible story that he can be back playing at the highest level in the Premier League. It's remarkable.

I admire Brentford for persuading him. They say they've done all the medical due diligence necessary. But I think everyone will have a slight anxiety watching him in some way, I imagine for teammates too.

  15. Watford enquire about England goalkeeper Hendersonpublished at 20:33 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2022

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport

Watford have asked about the possibility of signing Manchester United keeper Dean Henderson on loan until the end of the season.

Henderson hoped for a loan move after losing out to David de Gea in the battle to be United’s number one.

With Tom Heaton also at the club, Ralf Rangnick has three experienced keepers at his disposal.

However, United’s interim boss has previously said he didn’t want Henderson to leave and it seems unlikely the German will change his mind at this late stage of the window.

For more updates, analysis and reaction as we enter the final few hours of deadline day go to the Watford page.

  16. Have Spurs' squad needs been addressed?published at 20:31 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2022

    Nathan A Clark
    The Extra Inch Spurs Podcast

Director of Football Fabio Paratici has used his contacts at, and knowledge of, Juventus to bring in two quality players who are significantly undervalued by the market.

Great! But what does this do for our lack of cover of centre-back? How does this improve our creativity from the right flank? How will this decrease the burden of minutes of Harry Kane's ankles?

This deals-orientated approach to the market is something we became used to when Daniel Levy assumed the role - and it does have its upsides of course - but we thought it would be different now we have a real director to address the needs of the squad.

    Brentford

Brentford's Danish defender Luca Racic, 22, has gone on loan to Danish second-tier side HB Koge, managed by ex-Liverpool defender Daniel Agger.

Phil Giles, Brentford's drector of football, said: “Luka has not played a lot of football since his loan at Northampton came to an end and this is a great opportunity for him to get time in meaningful matches.

"He will be able to work with Koge head coach Daniel Agger, who was an excellent central defender, and will have a good environment to develop. We wish Luka all the best for the remainder of the season."

  20. Bournemouth sign Wales striker Moorepublished at 20:21 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2022
