  1. 'It's going to boil down to next weekend'published at 12:24 British Summer Time 2 April 2022

    Liverpool v Watford (12:30 BST)

    Alan Shearer
Former England striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

I think it’s a flip of coin in the title race.

You’ve got two really experienced managers and squads who know what it’s like to be in this position.

It’s all going to boil down to next weekend.

  2. 'Any slip up can be a real mess'published at 12:23 British Summer Time 2 April 2022

    Liverpool v Watford (12:30 BST)

    Andy Reid
Ex-Republic of Ireland midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

It’s starting to get to the point where any slip up can be a real mess.

I’m not surprised Jurgen Klopp has come out and asked the fans to really get behind them. Sometimes these early kick-offs can be a little bit flat and Liverpool don’t want that.

They want to come out of the traps absolutely flying. They don’t want to give Watford anything to hang on for.

I’m expecting a few goals from Liverpool today.

  4. 'Liverpool have done incredibly well'published at 12:19 British Summer Time 2 April 2022

    Liverpool v Watford (12:30 BST)

    Alan Shearer
Former England striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Liverpool have got a really good opportunity to put some pressure on Manchester City.

When you consider where they were two months ago, it looked all over. They’ve done incredibly well to get themselves back into contention.

You can guarantee Anfield and the Kop will be bouncing when they come out.

  5. 'A real chance to put pressure on City'published at 12:18 British Summer Time 2 April 2022

    Liverpool v Watford (12:30 BST)

    James McFadden
Former Scotland forward on Football Focus

The fact that Liverpool have options means they have the luxury of not starting Sadio Mane. They’re that strong it doesn’t weaken them.

Playing first means they can go top of the league, which they haven’t been since the start of October. I think it’s an advantage. It means they really have a chance to put the pressure on Manchester City.

Liverpool have a massive squad and the quality to maybe rest players. Jurgen Klopp is a good manager and he knows how to manage the squad throughout the next two weeks when Liverpool are juggling Premier League and Champions League games.

It's a big ask [to win the quadruple] but I do think they are in a decent position to do that.

    Liverpool v Watford (12:30 BST)

    Martin Keown
Former England defender on Football Focus

Liverpool’s run is absolutely phenomenal. That is the standard now – it’s gone to a completely new level. Liverpool just have to keep winning.

Maybe it’s a changing of the guard up front, with Diogo Jota in good form and Luis Diaz doing well. It’s almost like they have two sets of strikers, and boy are they in good form.

How about this for a tribute to Mo Salah!

While the Liverpool forward has been away on international duty with Egypt, a mural has gone up in honour of the Reds' No 11 near Anfield.

The giant artwork features two celebrations from Salah's career with Liverpool.

Will he add to his 28-goal season haul in all competitions for Liverpool today?

I love the way Jurgen Klopp talks and I love the way Pep Guardiola talks about taking baby steps. They never get carried away. They both drill it into their players 'do not talk about anything other than the team you are playing next'.

The key to winning this silverware is making sure your players are on hot coals all the time. What I mean by that is to perform all the time and put players under pressure to get good performances.

Man Utd v Leicester (17:30 BST)

Manchester United forward Edinson Cavani is a doubt after picking up a calf injury playing for Uruguay.

Defender Luke Shaw has recovered from illness while midfielder Paul Pogba has shaken off a foot problem.

Leicester will again be without Jamie Vardy, who has a knee problem, while Wilfred Ndidi is out for the season with a knee injury.

Luke Thomas is a doubt with a hamstring issue but Marc Albrighton is available again after a groin problem.

Danny Ward and Ryan Bertrand are both out with knee injuries.

Watford start at Anfield 18th in the table and three points from safety.

Will they stay up? They have eight games left after this including away matches at Manchester City and Chelsea.

However, they still have to play fellow strugglers Burnley and Everton at home.

After today, Roy Hodgson's side have back-to-back home matches against Leeds on April 9 and - a week later - Brentford. Those fixtures could well shape which league Watford are going to play in next season.

It's mesmerising listening to both Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola, and you could listen to both of them all day because it's so interesting.

You wonder how they have got that desire when they have both won so much. It's like the more they win, the more they demand from their teams.

We're actually blessed to have these two managers in the Premier League at the same time.

What an ending we're in for this season!

Leeds forward Patrick Bamford could miss the rest of the season because of a foot injury.

Captain Liam Cooper, Diego Llorente, Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha should all be available.

Southampton have no new injury concerns, while Will Smallbone and Orio Romeu have both recovered from illness.

Alex McCarthy and Nathan Tella are back in training but not yet ready for selection.

    Liverpool

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson speaking to BT Sport: "As always, we just think of the next challenge and today that is Watford. We go for that.

"[The international break] was good for me. We had a good performance from my team as well. It's good for the team to have a week of training before the match. It's not something we get often. We are focused and this is a big match for us.

"The Premier League is always full of surprises. We know that. We respect the opponent a lot because they deserve it. To respect them is by going on the pitch and playing 100% to give our best football."

  20. Is there hope for the bottom three?published at 11:49 British Summer Time 2 April 2022

The Premier League's bottom three are all in action today and time is running out for them to climb up the table.

Norwich, who take on Brighton, have an eight-point gap and a far superior goal difference to make up as they sit rock bottom.

There is just a point between Watford and Burnley, who take on Liverpool and Manchester City respectively, but Sean Dyche's side do have two games in hand.

The Clarets need to close the four-point gap Everton have created to reach safety.

Everton travel to West Ham, who are looking to secure a European spot, tomorrow afternoon (14:00 BST).
