  2. 'A special day for the club'published at 20:43 British Summer Time 7 May 2022

    FT: Brighton 4-0 Man Utd

    Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton boss Graham Potter speaking to BBC Match of the Day: “We have had to suffer a bit at home. Performances have been good but little things that need to go your way haven't. So to perform the way we did against a club of the stature of Manchester United is a special day for the club.

"We were aggressive and on the front foot as much as we could, it was a really good performance."

On Moises Caicedo and Marc Cucurella scoring their first Brighton goals: "It was an emotional moment for us. For Moises it is not easy coming across from South America, missing his family and giving up a lot to come over here. But he's been fantastic.

Marc has been talking about scoring and we were laughing at him about it. But that's why you love football, seeing that emotional feeling and connection with the supporters."

On the club's journey from the bottom tier to Premier League: "It's credit to everyone connected with the club. The journey it has been on is fantastic. It is a well-run football club.

"You suffer at moments in the Premier League, that's the nature of the competition. But there is a real togetherness.

"Today is a day for them, the supporters and everyone connected with the club to cherish."

DJ Techno/Joshua Cumbers: May still be 0-0 but the Spurs are coming, especially if Liverpool will have another switch off.

Dennis Ethan: Anfield has the best atmosphere in the Premier League.

BamPotent: Spurs being too sloppy with the ball, especially when trying to pass out from the back. Too many unforced errors.

  6. 'Tottenham doing a good job'published at 20:39 British Summer Time 7 May 2022

    HT: Liverpool 0-0 Tottenham

    Jonathan Woodgate
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

It is an interesting game. You can say Liverpool haven't created enough and Tottenham have been good in their shape but Tottenham have been really dangerous on the counter. If their final pass had been better, there were chances to get in.

But the longer this game goes on, the home fans will start getting itchy feet. Tottenham are doing a good job.

Liverpool players must be on an insane regiment of protocols to be able to maintain the workrate they do playing twice a week. I don't care what anyone says. It's not human.

Liverpool, predictably, having most of the possession but Spurs are holding firm. Manager Antonio Conte will be frustrated that Spurs have not made the most of the possession they have had when they have tried to catch Liverpool on the counter.

Romero is the Tottenham version of Granit Xhaka. A player desperate to show he's a hard man, but who invariably wants turns out to be a liability.
