Liverpool are pressing ferociously but just a hint of what Spurs can do in that break. Good work by Alisson to save from Bentancur but Spurs are currently being hounded in possession.

Jordan Henderson's cushioned clearance sets Sadio Mane off on the break. He lays it off to Mohamed Salah but his shot is deflected out for a corner.

Harry Kane does really well to skip past a few challenges on the left and takes on Trent Alexander-Arnold. The Liverpool full-back keeps up and makes the tackle near the byline, before bringing it out coolly.

Spurs looked a threat on the break a few moments ago but they can't really get the ball off Liverpool in these early stages.

Emerson Royal does well to stop Sadio Mane's cross, with the help of Son Heung-min.

Liverpool press hard, almost win it back, but Spurs can break down the right. It's whipped in and Alisson has to stop Rodrigo Bentancur getting a touch on it before the flag goes up for offside.

Liverpool have settled early and are being backed by a raucous crowd at Anfield. Spurs are having to defend but are happy to let the hosts switch play across the middle.

Manchester United

Manchester United interim boss Ralf Rangnick speaking to Sky Sports: "It was a terrible performance. From the first until the last minute it was not enough; we can only apologise for this performance and a humiliating defeat. [Monday's win over Brentford] was a different game, we just gave too much time and space. We were never in a position where we could stop them playing through our lines, We told the players be as compact as they could but we couldn't stop it.

"I don't think they ignored the gameplan but we weren't able to stop them. We gave them too much space and if you do that against a technically good team like Brighton, you will get punished."

Sadio Mane is in acres of space as he drives towards the box and he's invited to shoot from distance. He connects well enough but it's straight at Hugo Lloris.

Tottenham are attacking the Kop end but a long ball is sent straight through to Alisson.

Liverpool's first spell of possession is dangerous as Luis Diaz cuts inside and Trent Alexander-Arnold almost tees up Sadio Mane.

Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton defender Marc Cucurella speaking to Sky Sports: "It is unbelievable. We played really well and we are very happy because we work together, we lost six games in a row. This is a present for the fans and the team and the season.

"Coming here was difficult in the summer, a new league, new country and new language. It is now very exciting for me and my family; when we came, my son was 10 days old. He travelled with me when I changed my city. It is very special."

Liverpool have lost just one of the past 18 Premier League meetings with Tottenham (W12, D5).

But Spurs ended a run of seven consecutive defeats against them in all competitions when the sides drew 2-2 in December.

There have been 23 penalties awarded in Premier League matches between these sides - more than any other fixture.

The total of 170 goals in this meeting is the second highest in the competition's history.

Anfield is up for this. They have just booked their place in the Champions League final. They are in the FA Cup final next week. This is like another final as they look to keep up their quest for the Premier League title.

Manchester United

Man Utd midfielder Bruno Fernandes to Sky Sports: "The result is what it is. It is not good enough.

"They outplayed us. They always had a solution. Pressed us better and they deserved the result.

"A little bit of everything [went wrong]. Quality. Mentality. They deserved to win and we deserve to be in the position we are in now.

"It's something that we have to look and be embarrassed because that was not good enough from us and we have to do much better.

"I don't want to talk about the future, we have still one game this season and we have to win.

"I talked with the club about the future many times before I signed my contract because I think the future can be good, but obviously many things need to be fixed, as we have seen this season."

On the fans chanting 'you're not fit to wear the shirt' to the players: "I include myself in that. What we did today, what I did today, was not enough to be in a Man Utd shirt and I accept it."

Dejan Kulusevski has registered eight assists in the English top-flight since making his first start on 19 February, more than any other player in that period.

Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton captain Lewis Dunk speaking to Sky Sports: "It is a special day. [Man Utd] are a top side and we've let our home fans down this season, so it was a nice moment. Away from home, our form has been excellent, home form not so good. It has held us back in the league. They've had to watch some not so good performances but you can hear they enjoyed that one.

"We waited for it to come together; there were a few moments when I was still shouting. I'm happy, but never too happy. We'll have a nice evening."

Alisson can record a 21st Premier League clean sheet of the season today.

The only goalkeeper to keep more than 21 in a campaign was Petr Cech, with 24 for Chelsea in 2004-05.

No-one in the home stands wants to go home from this one and who can blame them. Brighton have had some great results this season, but this one topped the lot.

They were superb from start to finish and were not flattered at all by the four-goal winning margin. Indeed, Danny Welbeck nearly grabbed a fifth but curled just wide from the edge of the area.

This season cannot end quickly enough for United though. This Brighton victory ensures there won't be Champions League football at Old Trafford next season.

The rebuilding task for Erik ten Hag is looking harder and harder with every United match. Is there a tougher job in world football?

United embarrassed, humiliated, outclassed and outworked. Brighton on course for their best ever season in their history on an evening none of their fans will ever forget.

It's been another great week for Liverpool.

I was commentating on their Champions League tie against Villarreal and the Reds were all over the place in the first half, but I said at half-time that I thought they would be fine because it had been a superhuman effort by the Spanish side. They were never going to be able to keep that up.

Now the Reds have two more cup finals to look forward this season, and I think they will see off Tottenham too to maintain their challenge.

An evening kick-off under the Anfield lights will help boost the atmosphere, but the main reason I am backing Jurgen Klopp's side here is more down to the fact Spurs are so unconvincing on the road.

Antonio Conte's side got that brilliant win over Manchester City at Etihad Stadium in February, of course, but the frustrating thing for Conte is that they have not played like that often enough.

This is another big game so I think Spurs will be up for this one too, and cause the Liverpool defence some problems, but not as many as Mohamed Salah & Co will cause them at the other end.
