Liverpool are one point off leaders Manchester City but could put the pressure back on again with a win tonight to take the top spot.

City don't play until 16:30 BST tomorrow, when they host Newcastle.

Spurs are still well in the hunt for a Champions League qualification spot. They sit two points off rivals Arsenal and can move back into fourth with a win over Liverpool.

The Gunners host Leeds tomorrow but with Chelsea dropping points earlier today, Arsenal and Spurs could even be eyeing up third place...

This is a new low for United - an abject performance from some very expensively paid players who do not put in a shift - Rangnick has only increased the teams decline and should not be further involved - Bring in Roy Keane as assistant to motivate.

    FT: Brighton 4-0 Man Utd

With this defeat Manchester United's faintest glimmer of sneaking into the top four is gone.

It also means they will finish the season with their lowest-ever Premier League points tally.

For Brighton, a first-ever Premier League top half finish looks very much on the cards and their fans are loving life right now.

Would love Graham Potter at United. In fact, I'd even take Harry Potter or Brian Potter in this situation we currently find ourselves in...

    All over!

What a win for Brighton, who put in one of their best performances of the season to beat Manchester United comfortably.

For the visitors, after the glimmer of hope provided by the Brentford performance this will leave fans concerned about how they pick themselves up from this.

Paul is absolutely right. There is no divine right. History meant nothing as a Wolves fan in the 1980s when we found ourselves in Division 4 and almost went out of business on two occasions.

Brighton fans don't want this game to end. They roar with delight as Moises Caicedo's persistence frustrates Scott McTominay, who concedes a free kick on the left.

Pascal Gross' delivery doesn't beat the first man but he earns a few oles as he turns his marker twice before releasing Marc Cucurella with a backheel, but his cross is a poor one.

Brighton don't seem interested in trying to get a fifth so instead there's a bit of defending to do as they look to close this out.

People will focus on the United aspect and all of that said, Brighton may be one of the finest examples of a small club getting things right. All credit to them from their invested owners to match day staff it's a fabulous example of a great, well run club. I'm an arsenal fan for clarity. Just feel that the spotlight should be focused properly!

    Brighton 4-0 Man Utd

Just over a year ago Cristiano Ronaldo had scored a brace for Juventus at Udinese on his way to finishing a season with 46 goals in 59 games for club and country. He's looked a bit stunned at times at what has transpired here.

Brighton make a change as the excellent Leandro Trossard is replaced by Neal Maupay.

  20. 'Just like Brighton, your city is blue'published at 19:09 British Summer Time 7 May 2022

    Brighton 4-0 Man Utd

    Michael Emons
BBC Sport at the Amex Stadium

Brighton fans are still in full taunting mode. "Just like Brighton, your city is blue," chant the home fans to those in the away end.

Absolute full credit to the United supporters, who have all still stayed and are going through the full range of chants.

It's a long, long way from Manchester to Brighton, but the away fans have been superb in creating a wonderful atmosphere. Superb is definitely not the word to use about those in red shirts on the pitch, though.

Erik ten Hag, who could well win the Dutch title tomorrow, may well be wondering what he's put himself up for. This United team needs a complete rebuild.
