DigitalTeez: Great achievement, being 39 and playing at the World Cup, but Atiba Hutchinson has been overrun in the midfield and should never have started.

Canada are great entertainment value, but tactically they are a bit all over the place.

Kovacic has been brilliant for Croatia, the best player on the pitch by far. He's controlling the tempo.

He's been Croatia's shining light, not Modric.

Anon: Youthful exuberance is good but Quality and experiences is better. Croatia showing their quality and experience. If Canada can keep their tempo for the duration of the game, they can nick something out of it as the experienced Croatians may lose steam with time. All to play for in the second half.

Anon: What a fantastic football match - Canada initially so impressive but by the end of the half they were lucky to still be in it. Bring on the next 45.

Anon: The Canadian defenders look sloppy. They look all over the place!

It's been an interesting game, hasn't it?

It started as I really thought it would do in terms of Canada out of the box with energy and purpose and Croatia not quite as good as you'd expect.

Whether or not the goal switched the mindset, they haven't been able to carry it on and take anything to Croatia who, after looking a bit sloppy in the opening ten minutes, have looked very controlled and comfortable.

Canada need to get a grip of Croatia midfielder Mateo Kovacic, the Chelsea player is totally bossing the game in the middle of the park.

The ex-Real Madrid man has a 100% accuracy from 30 passes, made more tackles (4), won more possession (7) and duels (5) than any other player on the pitch.

He has created two chances as well, which is also a match high.

Here's the goal that drew the scores back level for the 2018 finalists.

It's a tidy little finish from Andrej Kramaric.

Canada will be glad to hear that whistle. They're really struggling with Croatia's technical ability and some of their defending has been frantic.

Alphonso Davies gave Canada a dream start with a stunning header inside two minutes for his country's first ever goal at a World Cup.

But Croatia have fought back excellently with goals from Andrej Kramaric and Marko Livaja to go in with the lead.

He's come into the team today to do his job which is exactly this - put the ball in the back of the net. The build-up play is superb on the right-hand side and Livaja has such a clean right-footed strike. A really good goal from Croatia.

From one down to 2-1 up. The move starts close to the right touchline, Croatia move at pace, it falls to Marko Livaja on the edge of the penalty area and he fires a low strike into the net.

A great time to score and it has been a superb response to falling behind inside the first two minutes.

Ivan Perisic has been directly involved in more goals than any other player for Croatia in major tournament history (15 - nine goals + six assists in World Cup + Euros).

Andrej Kramaric's goal was his second in World Cups, also scoring vs Russia in 2018.
