The Spanish are trying things now.

They know that Plan A certainly didn’t work. I just wonder if there is a Plan B.

  2. YELLOW CARDpublished at 77 mins

    Morocco 0-0 Spain

Spain defender Aymeric Laporte is the first player booked today for his foul on Achraf Hakimi. Unlike Laporte, Hakimi was born in Spain.

  3. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 75 mins

    Morocco 0-0 Spain

Spain bring on Nico Williams for Ferran Torres.

Williams' Ghanaian parents actually came to Spain by climbing a fence to get to Melilla, that Spanish enclave I mentioned earlier on that borders Morocco.

Matt: Morocco are really difficult team to play against. Very quick on the counter and strong defensively, don’t know how this will end up.

    Morocco 0-0 Spain

It’s metronomic. Sometimes that’s impressive as long as there’s an end product.

There just hasn’t been enough of that from Spain.

Ridiculous. Alvaro Morata finds himself offside as he gets the ball 40 yards from goal.

There have been five shot attempts in this match after 70 minutes. The fewest shots in a match at this World Cup is nine during Argentina's 2-0 win against Mexico.

If this should finishes 0-0 at full time, I shall have a shower and then return for the penalties, no one is going to score!!

  9. Isolated Asensiopublished at 16:26 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2022

    Morocco 0-0 Spain

Fair to say it wasn't Marco Asensio's most productive night.

The Spain forward has been hooked by Luis Enrique after having just 23 touches of the ball, with three of them being inside the Moroccan penalty area.

Only keeper Unai Simon (20) has had fewer in the Spain side.

Let's see if Alvaro Morata can create more of an impact in the final third of the 90 minutes...

Dani Olmo finds Alvaro Morata in the box but the journeyman is tackled well by Nayef Aguerd. A bit more intent from Spain in the last few minutes.

Dani Olmo plays the corner short to Carlos Soler... and then Spain just pass the ball round for a bit. Infuriating.

I was fairly sure coming into this that Spain would win. I can't say I'm sure anymore. They do have a corner though.

  13. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 66 mins

    Morocco 0-0 Spain

Morocco bring on Barcelona youngster Abdessamad Ezzalzouli, who is on loan at Osasuna. Sofiane Boufal is replaced.

You can sense the belief among the Morocco fans.

I didn't think it possible but the noise they are making has gone up another few decibels in the last five minutes.

    Nervy times for Spain.

  17. Spain setting up camppublished at 16:20 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2022

    Morocco 0-0 Spain

Not much has changed since the break in terms of the pattern of play.

Spain continue to hog the ball and Morocco are defending for their lives.

  18. 'Spain have created minimal chances'published at 16:19 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2022

    Morocco 0-0 Spain

    Pat Nevin
Former Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

Surely the Spanish have to look at what else they can consider from the bench.

They have created minimal chances and there is a danger with Morocco breaking.

You should be controlling it if you are Spain and I am not sure they are.

  19. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 62 mins

    Morocco 0-0 Spain

Spain bring on Alvaro Morata and Carlos Soler for Gavi and Marco Asensio.

Morata can become the first player to score as a substitute in three different matches at a single World Cup.

    Morocco 0-0 Spain

Morocco are sloppy at the back for almost the first time but escape. Jordi Alba's cross is sliced into the air by Romain Saiss and Bono's punch is weak but Spain can't take advantage.
