If the Morocco national team was from the animal kingdom, they would be a cobra.
They sit there and then they strike with brilliant pace.
The more this is going on, the more I am impressed.

Spain are quite happy to play sideways on the half-way line again and again and again, until they spot a gap - which isn't that often.
Morocco on the other hand, just charge forward when they win the ball back.
Morocco 0-0 Spain
The expected goals score is 0.24-0.24.
Five shots in total, two on target.

Lots of people finding this boring but I'm really enjoying the contrasting tactical approaches. Not one for the highlights reel but still a really good game of football.

Youssef En-Nesyri is miles offside from a through ball. He's so offside they don't even bother letting him finish the move off.
That was a good one, Barry.

Is it just me but Spain bore me. Why they haven't got Morata on I don't know. I fully expect him on and a Spain win though

It's appropriate that this game is being played at the Education City Stadium because I've certainly learned my lesson for tuning in.

Marco Asensio rolls the free-kick to Dani Olmo, who shoots from the left wing, and it's palmed away by Bono.
That is Spain's first chance on target. And in a normal game it would barely register because no way he was scoring from there.

Mark: Spain and Morocco doing their very best to remind us that football isn’t just about goals, attacking intent, ambition and a little called excitement. England, France and Brazil please take note.

Achraf Hakimi brings down Gavi and Spain have a free-kick on the left. They try to take it before anyone is ready and the referee says go again.
Morocco 0-0 Spain
Alvaro Morata is indeed warming up. This game really could do with someone who can score a goal.
Morocco 0-0 Spain
Alvaro Morata has scored in each of his last three World Cup appearances for Spain, despite playing a total of just 126 minutes across those games.
He is one of eight players on three goals at this World Cup. Only Kylian Mbappe, with five, has more.

Surely Alvaro Morata has to be a decision at some point.
He scores goals.

Even Fifa president Gianni Infantino, in the crowd, is looking at his phone. He'd better not check what people are saying about him on social media.
Morocco 0-0 Spain
Spain keeper Unai Simon gets lucky as he takes a heavy touch in front of his goal and just squeezes a clearance in between two onrushing Moroccans.

If either team score a goal this game will completely change and open up.
Spain need to change it because they are falling into a trap and I think the Moroccans will get stronger as the game goes on.
Morocco 0-0 Spain
Spain play the free-kick short but it's then whipped in and headed away well by Youssef En-Nesyri.
Morocco 0-0 Spain
Spain win a free-kick on the right as Ferran Torres nutmegs Noussair Mazraoui and is fouled by the defender.
