We thought it might be something special and it was. The threat is there, if you double up out wide then it leaves the space in the middle. Tchouameni had all the time and space he wanted to pick the ball up. He's picked his spot and he's hammered it into the corner.

It's a brilliant strike.

We've been talking about Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele, probing, causing a little problem early in the game but when it comes out to Aurelien Tcouameni, we didn't expect him to strike like this, we haven't seen this in the tournament.

Brilliant goal.

This is better from Southgate's lads. Declan Rice wins the ball and sends Harry Kane away. He lacks the pace to get away from the two France centre-backs, but it is much more proactive from England.

England are in a holding pattern at the moment. France have taken control early on.

France create it. They work it wide on the right and Dembele crosses for Olivier Giroud to crane his neck and steer a header on target.
