France have a good national anthem. You have to give them that.

Both tunes are impeccably dealt with. Well, as tunefully as footballers can manage.

Let's get this show on the road.

Everyone watching Mbappe gives Bellingham the freedom to steal the show!

    John, Bournemouth

Ross: With lots of attention on Mbappe, Maguire will have to be on his toes not to get beaten for pace on the other side. This is going to be an exciting game.

With all the focus on Mbappe pre-match, England need to be careful that Griezmann isn’t left to run the game.

  18. 'We've got to be prepared'published at 18:46 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2022

    England v France (19:00 GMT)

    England

England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live: "We want to keep as many clean sheets in the tournament as we can. First game we conceded a penalty and another goal which we weren't happy about because we wanted to be perfect but we can't always be perfect. But then we built on that and have taken three clean sheets in a row which is crucial.

"You're getting in the latter stages of the tournament now and you're going to have to play all the better teams in the tournament at one stage. We know France is a tough opponent, we've got to be prepared, and we've got to take the game to them because the talent and depth we have is unbelievable.

"It's really exciting playing the World Cup Champions. They're a team we want to get after and a team we're fully-prepared to get the win against. It's about us executing our game plan."

The action on the card has just been paused so the 8,000 or so fans here can watch the game on the big screens and the ring has been lit up in red and white for England.

A loss for the Three Lions and Leeds man Warrington would be unthinkable...

There is a real sense of 'superstar' about him.

Stop Mbappe tonight and England have a chance.
