Griezmann knew what he was doing there. You see it so often. But he's been an absolute joy to watch, he's been the difference between the two teams and has dictated the play.

Ian: England slow and predictable at this point in time.

Marek: Useless. Slow, slow, side pass, side pass, big hoof forward by Maguire and lose possession. Bereft of ideas. Typical England.

Antoine Griezmann pulls out one foul too many, this time to trip Kyle Walker and he is booked for it. Ironic cheers greet the decision from the England fans.

It does feel like France are managing this reasonably well. England not truly hurting them.

You just feel that England are a man short in the combinations, they just need another man to finish off the moves. They're just not quite there yet.

England have reacted pretty well since the opener but it's all so nervy.

Nice possession play from England around the French box. They almost forge something meaningful from it.

A cross to the back post is met by Harry Kane but he can't steer his downward header to Phil Foden in the box.

France try something clever and it almost works!

They play it short and then flick the ball into the box for Adrien Rabiot to pull back for Kylian Mbappe. He gets right under his shot, though, and punts it high over the bar.

Jordan Henderson tracks back to try and tackle Kylian Mbappe, who goes down to win a free-kick in England territory. Clever.

Joseph: How is this ref not giving clear fouls against England?? Completely ridiculous

Greg: Foul after foul by the French. Shame the ref only sees about half of them.

Shane: Some seriously suspicious officiating in this game. England are playing against 14

Don't panic. That will be the message from England manager Gareth Southgate.

And his side have responded well since the goal.

Since Aurélien Tchouaméni's 17th-minute opener, England have had 72.5% possession and spent most of that period in France's half.

France are doing a good job of containing the England forwards here. Case in point - England have possession at the back but can only tap it between themselves for want of a runner in space.

It's been better from England. Bellingham is more composed and aware, looking where Griezmann is and being the one to get out to him.

Griezmann is certainly pulling some strings for France, picking up the ball, spreading it wide to team-mates. He's at the heart of all that is positive for the French at the moment.

England are pressing in the right way I think and forcing Lloris to kick long. Mbappe or Dembele don't want to be heading the ball and we've got Rice and Stones there who will fancy it.
