Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp to Sky Sports: "It's unbelievable, what they've done makes it even more special. Outstanding. What can I say about this group?
"It's a crime Minamino doesn't play more. Harvey didn't play for a long time. Curtis didn't play much. They delvier. It's unbelievable. Making nine changes and this performance is exceptional.
"We would have had much more problems today if we'd played the guys who played 120 minutes on Saturday.
"So many good things.
"I ask for a lot. I saw them enjoying the game and playing football. We conceded a goal out of nothing, It looked like a foul. I'm really proud of the boys. Since January we only drew three times. We had corona outbreaks.
"I never had a group like this. They push each other constantly. Tonight is really special. It worked out because of the boys."
On the final day: "We all know. We never gave up. We'll give it a try, It's our home game, last home game of season. The atmosphere will be outstanding. We'll try to use it. We have to do our job. Football is a tricky game sometimes. Aston Villa play on Thursday and then Sunday. We'll see but you have to focus on yourselves."
The Championship play off semi-final between Nottingham Forest and Sheffield United has gone to penalties!

Liverpool
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, speaking to BBC Sport: "The way we played with nine changes is outstanding.
"I saw a sensational performances without rhythm. The mentality after being 1-0 down in a situation I think we agree could have been a free kick. We were all a bit outraged but the boys calmed down.
"We scored a wonderful goal, we were never out of the game but it was open again. Second half we kept going, had spells where we didn't control the ball well enough then scored to make it 2-1 and then it was normal.
"Top game, unbelievable performance, nine changes. It worked out because of the players. If it hadn't worked out it 1000% would have been my responsibility."
Title still unlikely? "Of course it is unlikely because City play at home against Aston Villa, who play only on Thursday. It will be tough against Burnley, they fight for survival.
"But it is football. I think the time when City became champion [in 2019] it was because of 11 millimetres. If someone wants us to be champion then we have to win first and Aston Villa need to get a point at City.
"It is possible, not likely but possible. That is enough."

Southampton
Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl speaking to BBC Sport: "We tried our maximum today. The second goal we conceded was a little but frustrating. It was not really necessary to concede in that moment. They didn't have a lot of chances in the second half but you can see the quality they have.
"We had the perfect start with the first goal. It was a beautiful goal for the equaliser. In the end they defended a little deep and we had a few moments we could have maybe scored. We tried our best, made it as tough as possible for them but in the end it was enough for them.
"It is not easy to surprise them but we tried our best."
On this season: "Like always a lot of ups and downs. We had the 40 points relatively early to stay in the league but couldn't manage again to be higher. We must not forget that before this season they had us on the list to be relegated because we lost our best striker.
"We have a lot of things to do in the summer."

Liverpool
Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson to Sky Sports: "The aim was to take it to the end. We knew it would be difficult. A lot of changes. The lads were brilliant. They kept going right to the end and got the reward.
"We've done that really well all season, the lads who haven't played as much as they'd like took their opportunity. You need everyone in a Premier League season.
"We're so used to it. We're constantly in cup finals every game. It's normal. You get on with it. We can all celebrate or relax at the end of the season after the Champions League final.
"It's always tough. City never drop points really. Now and again a few of us do [watch their games]. The way they play it's never nice [to see as a rival], put the kids channels on. We really kicked on from January and gave it everything. In January if you said it would go to the last game we'd have taken that. We were quite far off. You have to give credit to the lads.
"The cup final gave us a boost to get over the line. We've used the whole squad. The energy levels were really good tonight. The lads are at home resting for the weekend. Hopefully they'll be fresh on Sunday."
On needing a result elsewhere on the final day: "It's hard to focus on the game. We've learned from that experience [three years ago]. We'll concentrate on what we need to do [and hope] Villa do us a favour."

"It wasn't going to be easy after the weekend. Hopefully we can have two more big performances."

Liverpool midfielder James Milner speaking to Sky Sports: "The guys are incredible. The guys who may not have played as much but you see it in training every day the level they put in and you can see it when they need to step up.
"It is a special group of players and a special football club. We fight to the end and keep going. All we can do is take it as far as we can.
"It shows how ready everyone is, how ready they are mentally. It is special and that starts right from the top with the manager."
On the final day: "We will try and win our game, it is all we can do."

Prince Gyimah: There's a Ghanaian proverb that says, if the person chasing you doesn't stop, you can't either. Of course, you can stop running, but that means you've given up. That is what Liverpool has been doing to City.
Sulaimon Adelekan: If Liverpool win only the Carabao cup and FA cup, i will rate their season 8/10. Why??? Because they have gone the limit with the others trophies(Premier league and Champions league) and gave themselves a realistic chance of the quadruple.

You have to credit Liverpool. Mass changes, 72 hours after a mammoth FA Cup final. To come in and bounce back... It wasn't a convincing performance. They haven't been at their best recently but they're getting the results.

Good result and performance from Liverpool B, but Southampton are utterly pathetic. Standing off Liverpool like a bunch of awestruck schoolboys. No effort, no press, incapable of basic passing and ball control, just jogging around and letting them have the freedom of their stadium in their last game in front of their fans, who really deserve better.
