Harvey Elliott cuts the ball back to James Milner on the edge of the area and the veteran midfielder shoots first time but the shot is blocked before Liverpool win a corner.

Good covering by Ibrahima Konate as he comes across to thump the ball out of play as Southampton look to break quickly in their first attack of the game.
Southampton 0-0 Liverpool
This is encouraging for Liverpool fans with Southampton barely managing to get a touch of the ball. Nothing to trouble Alex McCarthy in the Saints goal yet, though.

I don't understand all the negativity towards the Liverpool line-up. They played 120 minutes less than 3 days ago. Of course he is going to rest the key players. He has put out a sensible team that is more than capable of beating Southampton. Anyone with a clue would rather see him put a full strength squad out against a much tougher Wolves team on Sunday than against a 15th placed Southampton (no offence).

Liverpool have started how we expected - intensity, trying to get the ball down and play.
Southampton 0-0 Liverpool
Bright enough start by Liverpool. They are dominating possession as their FA Cup hero Konstantinos Tsimikas swings in a cross but Jack Stephens heads it into the air before Alex McCarthy catches.

And now it is time for kick off.
The hosts get things under way.

Here we go then. The teams are out, Southampton fans are holding up red and white pieces of card and the rain appears to have stopped.
Almost time for kick off.

Love Klopp, probably won't see someone again like him at Anfield but that's an utterly bizarre team selection with two games left. If the players aren't capable of playing four games in fourteen games then they shouldn't be playing football as a profession.

Kick off is almost upon us so here is a reminder of the line-ups.

Liverpool have kept 21 Premier League clean sheets this season, a joint high alongside Manchester City and one short of equalling the club record set in 2005-06.
The Reds could reach 10 top-flight away clean sheets in a campaign for the first time since 1984-85, when they ended with 11.

Jurgen Klopp has urged his Liverpool players not to give away cheap free-kicks tonight because of the threat posed by Southampton captain James Ward-Prowse.
"They are a highly energetic, well-organised team who defend well, press like crazy and counter-attack with all that they have," he said.
"We mustn't make silly fouls because James Ward-Prowse can shoot into the corner of the goal from any corner of the pitch!"
Huddersfield are one game away from a return to the Premier League after they beat Luton in the Championship play-off semi-finals last night.
Who will they face at Wembley? Nottingham Forest take on Sheffield United tonight with the hosts leading 2-1 from the first leg.

Liverpool hold a strong record against sides towards the bottom half of the table - winning 18 out of their 19 matches against those respective sides.
Only Brentford managed to pick up a point against this Liverpool side. The Bees held on to a 3-3 draw at the Brentford Community Stadium last September.

Former Manchester City defender Micah Richards has praised the remarkable work done by Jurgen Klopp in his seven years at Liverpool.
Klopp is the first Liverpool manager in history to complete the set of the league title, European Cup, League Cup and FA Cup.
Richards told BBC Radio 5 Live's Monday Night Club: "When he first came you are thinking what is he going to achieve? He was up against Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City and he has just taken this team to a completely different level.
"Going to three Champions League finals in five years, winning the FA Cup, winning the league.
"He's definitely one of the best managers I’ve seen since I have been watching football and it’s testament to what he has done at Liverpool Football Club."

Ralph Hasenhuttl has proved to be an immensely popular figure at Southampton but the manager came under fire from Saints fans during their last game, a defeat at Brentford.
Supporters chanted "Getting Sacked In The Morning" in the first signs of serious unrest, so it is a big night for Southampton and Liverpool.
Hasenhuttl will want his Southampton side to bounce back which will, of course, damage Liverpool's title chances as they chase leaders Manchester City.
