My friends, I will leave you with some photos.

It's been a strange 24 hours has it not? Football matches, hopes dashed for some, glory for others. A fanbase left frozen by how they were treated on foreign soil only served to add to the mix of emotions.

Hopefully today's images, videos and memories make things feel good again.

One day a team will win all four trophies. It is hard to do and, I guess, while we wait for it to happen, maybe it's fine to say winning one trophy, avoiding a relegation or winning a promotion are all equally worth celebrating.

Nottingham Forest fans, drink the bars dry and savour the tears of joy. Liverpool fans, here's to a fine season. Let's hope whatever colours we wear next season brings some good stuff to go crazy about.

Enjoy a summer off. My guess is we all want the footy back in a few days.

So then... plenty to dig into.

• We don't yet have clarity on Sadio Mane's future, though reports state he will leave Liverpool;
• The UK government has asked for answers from Uefa on what happened before and after Liverpool's Champions League final in Paris on Saturday;
• Liverpool's players largely said they didn't fancy the parade but that once it started it offered a lift to their spirits after defeat;
• The club's fans lined streets in their thousands to greet the FA Cup and Carabao Cup winners;

And there was a lot of pyro, music and general hysteria.

K: So happy the fans have given the reds the appreciation they deserve. So proud of the boys this season. Sadio leaves but he leaves as a legend. This team goes on. In Jurgen we trust. Always.

Davie: Finding it hard to enjoy this parade - not because of the loss, but with the Mane news. Gutted.

We don't know for sure if Sadio Mane is set to leave. The news from several Liverpool reporters is that he will soon ask to do so but as of yet, the club have said nothing publicly. That's a tale we may see move on in the coming 24 hours.

BBC Radio Merseyside have captured a few sights and sounds on The Strand...

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp speaks to LFC TV: "Lose the Champions League final the night before and the people arrive here in the mood they are. It is absolutely outstanding. This is the best club in the world. I don't care what people think.

"You have to plan these kind of things. I hoped we would find something like this, something incredible.

"Yes we lost the last two trophies but these people don't forget. They know exactly what shift the boys put in. It is such a boost for everything that will come.

"I am proud of these players but I am proud of these people - unbelievable.

"When you see the eyes of the people, it's incredible. You don't have to win, you just have to put all that you have in and the people of Liverpool love you.

"I'm not drunk, just emotional."

Missy Bo Kearns refuses to take her hands off the Championship trophy at the front of the Liverpool Women's bus.

Goalkeeper Adrian thrusts a scarf into the air as people watch down from an apartment balcony above him. We are nearly done... the crowds will soon disperse and present an open road to Liverpool, Klopp, Mane and more. Where will it take them next?

People stand on traffic lights. People stand on road signs. Kids sit on the shoulders of dads. Memories being created wherever you look. Calvin Harris drops a banger or two at the back of the bus where the cool kids used to sit. To these people on the streets though, the cool kids are hanging over the side and front.

"Poetry in motion" are the words on one flag as the men's team makes its way past the Albert Dock.

Jurgen Klopp is clapping carefully as he has a beer in one hand. There are murals of him painted on walls a few hundred metres from where this bus is now. He's been adopted it's fair to say.

And with all this going on, I just can't work out how that confetti cannon has so much in it. There must be a fella underneath the truck shovelling the stuff back in.

Dua Lipa has done well out of this.

Spare a thought for those on the 79 bus earlier. Delayed. Still, a good vantage point.

More fireworks are sent up. An attack on the senses. The smell of the pyro, the noise of the music, the sound of emotional voices and the sight of teams with trophies.

Not a bad Sunday.

Even better if you're a local bar or coffee shop owner as these people will need refreshing.

The air is quite literally red on The Strand as the Liver Birds look down.

Fireworks flash off from the buildings that make up Liverpool's waterfront. Confetti cannons turn the air red.

Whoever you support, football is pretty magic isn't it? Hopefully there are kids out on that road watching this who fall in love with all the joy it can bring.

The players are absolutely loving it. Dancing like cool kids. No dad moves.
