    OK, it's 18:00 BST. Some things we know:

    • Liverpool are parading the FA Cup and Carabao Cup through the city. The masses have turned out and players like Jordan Henderson and Andy Robertson have said the numbers out there have allayed fears of a flat day given last night's Champions League defeat;
    • The parade has passed through several areas of the city and will finish in front of the Liver Building in a couple of hours;
    • Sadio Mane looks like he will be leaving Anfield as several well-connected Liverpool reporters claim he will be letting the club know he wants a fresh challenge;
    • The UK government has asked Uefa to investigate "deeply concerning" scenes before and after Saturday's Champions League final
    • Liverpool's chief executive says fans will get the chance to send the club stories and examples of what they witnessed on Saturday night.

  2. An update on Paris scenes...published at 17:54 British Summer Time 29 May 2022

    The UK's culture secretary has urged Uefa to formally investigate "deeply concerning" scenes which delayed the start of the Champions League final.

    French police have been criticised for firing tear gas and pepper spray at some Liverpool fans waiting to get in to the stadium in Paris on Saturday.

    Nadine Dorries said it was in everyone's interest to "learn lessons".

    European football's governing body Uefa has said it will "review these matters urgently" with French police.

  4. 'This is why you do it'published at 17:50 British Summer Time 29 May 2022

    Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson speaks to LFC TV: "It's incredible. We weren't quite sure what to expect when we got on the bus. It was disappointing last night. But the lads have given everything. The least we can do is say thank you to the fans for what they have given to us this season. It means a lot to the lads.

    "We weren't sure what it would be like. We were all a bit flat. But this is what it is all about. This is why you do it and who you do it for.

    "It's fine margins in football. I suppose you can say we got a bit lucky in the other finals with penalties, luck was on our side. That's football, you have to take it as it is. It has been an incredible season. We have given everything. Hopefully we can go even better next year.

    "We can take it for granted because of our consistency. In the end we come away with two trophies. You can't win them all. We will try and keep trying. We will try again next year."

    There's a thick crowd of people outside the Jolly Miller and the mini retail park over the road. That junction is a right nightmare at the best of times but my word, today you need to be like Lewis Hamilton to get through there.

    Jordan Henderson has some stuff to say. That's up next...

  7. Robson calls in a favour...published at 17:42 British Summer Time 29 May 2022

    Andy Roberston reveals he was involved in getting Calvin Harris to DJ at the back of Liverpool's bus.

    "I'll stay quiet on that one," he says, before hinting he had something to do with recruiting his fellow Scot.

    A Mohamed Salah cut out has made its way to the front of the bus. The man himself keeps his head down a bit at these events.

    Either that or he's taken my advice of jumping off to get a Sunday roast in the Jolly Miller.

  9. 'Down, disappointed, lifted'published at 17:37 British Summer Time 29 May 2022

    Liverpool defender Andy Robertson speaks to LFC TV: "To be honest I woke up this morning in a terrible mood. Everyone did. We were disappointed. Obviously dreading the parade a bit. Then when you get on this bus you realise the best fans in the world come out. It has lifted the spirits for all of us. It will give us a nice ending to a really tough season.

    "You want to win the big final. When you don't you worry about how you will be received, what will go on, who will show up. My goodness, what a turn out. They have given us something to be happy about. To represent them, for all of us is the biggest honour.

    "We have to show the appreciation to them. It's been a long, tough season for us. Also for them. How much money they have spent, every game 63 games sold out. It's a thank you to them."

    They've also just gone past a carvery. Thiago looked fuming. The lad has forgotten all about Tapas. He's all for gravy now.

    The parade bus will catch a glimpse of The Jolly Miller soon. My suggestion would be an ale and a solid Yorkshire Pudding to refuel. It's been a 24 hours where life has taken those players on ups and downs. Beer and batter sounds good.

  14. 'In good hands' - Origipublished at 17:24 British Summer Time 29 May 2022

    Divock Origi - who leaves Liverpool this summer - speaks to LFC TV on the parade bus: "It is unbelievable it has been a special season. We have fought on every front. Only in Liverpool you see this type of love, even after defeat.

    "I am so grateful and happy.

    "I will miss these boys a lot. It's been eight years. I feel like my purpose is done. I feel we are in good hands. There is so much more to come for this team."

  15. 'Liverpool has to be everywhere'published at 17:21 British Summer Time 29 May 2022

    Neil Atkinson of The Anfield Wrap speaks to Sky Sports: "We need to enjoy all the football we get. We said we wouldn't take it for granted anymore. Now we just shouldn't. Every club in the country. This to the city of Liverpool is really important.

    "This is a city that the world has an awareness of. It's not a capital but the world cares culturally. Liverpool has to be everywhere. On days like today it will be and that's because of these footballers and this team."

    A lot was said about this parade, especially last night after the disappointing defeat to Real Madrid in Paris.

    Some said it would be flat, others said parading two trophies was futile when four had been up for grabs. Each to your own.

    The strange thing is, now that it's happening, the players look happy, the fans likewise and it's hard to see how it's anything other than positive for those involved.

    Jurgen Klopp really wanted it to happen and, looking at the images, that seems to now make total sense.

  18. 'Rammed'published at 17:08 British Summer Time 29 May 2022

    Liverpool's bus hits its first and pretty much only major incline as it takes on the Edge Lane flyover. It'll descend into Old Swan and passed The Navigator pub where fans are ready and waiting.

    Thiago has his cap on backwards, Jordan Henderson sports some ice cold shades, Diogo Jota refuses to let the FA Cup go and a few miles away thousands of fans are waiting on The Strand for the players to arrive.

    The images show it's absolutely rammed by the Liver Building. And I do mean rammed.
