Real Madrid's players are currently showing the European Cup to fans in Spain. I'll post some pictures in a while. Liverpool's fans were broken hearted and yet they are greeting this team to the sound of 'You'll Never Walk Alone' like none of it matters.

It does of course. But what's not to like about people sharing, regardless of a result? We've seen all sorts of stuff in recent years from lockdowns to soaring bills. If we can all be happy then bring it on.

The bus turns on to The Strand where the players will see the biggest crowd of the day.

We are a couple of turns from the Liver Building and the thousands of fans outside it coming into view.

Calvin Harris is up to all sorts on the DJ set. The players seem lifted again and in a few minutes things will get lively.

If this is your team enjoy it. If not then here's hoping you get loads of joy next season too.

The bus passes St George's Hall. That opened in 1854. Back then people didn't climb lampposts for this thing called football. I'm glad I'm here now.

What a sport eh? The things it does to you.

The bus is passing where The Grafton night club once stood.

You'll recall fans in Turkey used to welcome away sides to games with banners reading "welcome to hell".

Back in Istanbul in 2005 Liverpool fans carried a banner which read "you think this is hell, you should see the Grafton on a Friday night".

Sadly the doors have closed. It lives on in folklore.

Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain speaks to LFC TV: "Every now and then I get a tap on the back from Milner saying 'soak it in'. He knows, he's been around the block. He has done it all.

"He drinks orange juice until 4am. I can't say the same for myself today. He has a great time on the orange juice and that's all that matters."

  14. 'We will have our hands on trophies'published at 18:27 British Summer Time 29 May 2022

Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold speaks to LFC TV: "It's hard to gauge how this was going to go. It's been outstanding. An unbelievable season. It's ended in disappointment but in the grand scheme of things you get two trophies. We are proud of how far we have come.

"Missing two trophies puts a little downer on things. We have two from four, that's more than any other English team.

"It gives us motivation to go again. There's no doubt next season we will have our hands on trophies again."

  15. 'The Scouse soul'published at 18:24 British Summer Time 29 May 2022

Liverpool assistant manager Pepijn Lijnders: "This is insane. We saw the Scouse soul today. There's something's bigger than winning. When you lose and you see the pride, it's next level. I think this is the best remedy. See your family if you lose and your fans with this pride.

"We have the feeling we can continue with this team to work, it overrules all the thoughts of losing. We have to cherish these moments."

Goalkeeping coach John Achterberg: "It makes you desperate to win more. The enjoyment fans give the players and staff is unreal really."

Liverpool's Women's team is on a bus of their own celebrating their promotion to the Women's Super League.

Manager Matt Beard says: "It's unbelievable. It's been a remarkable season for us and this is a great occasion.

"I am delighted with what we have achieved this year. Right the way from day one the group was fantastic. Listening to players, it's like a family. That's why we have had the success we have had.

"I say it all the time. I have never worked anywhere like it. I am lucky. The WSL will be tough but we are looking forward to it.

"We are pretty much done on our recruitment. We have been planning since around February what we want to do. We are quite advanced in what we want to do."

  17. 'Positivity and an opportunity'published at 18:15 British Summer Time 29 May 2022

Neil Atkinson of the Anfield Wrap speaks to Sky Sports about the parade and the positivity on show despite Saturday night's Champions League final defeat.

He says: "What we cant do is decide all football - unless its about one or two trophies - is about everyone else wasting their time. I'm not surprised there is lots of positivity.

"It's an opportunity. It's hard to get tickets for games. All you need for a parade is a pavement and you can adore the Reds. Only 55,000 can be at Anfield. All you need today is your own square and you can say to this side is 'thank you very much'."

Harvey Elliot signs a shirt with his name on the back and throws it into the masses on the pavement.

The bus moves through Tuebrook - there's no market on today so it'll get through but Divock Origi won't be able to jump off to buy some cheap batteries.

  19. 'An amazing return'published at 18:08 British Summer Time 29 May 2022

Liverpool fan Alan speaks to LFC TV: "I'm made up. I can't wait to see the bus. Two cups out of four is not bad.

"Any silverware at all. Two is amazing.

"When I grew up, Ray Clemence was in goal, Kenny Dalglish was playing. You go through to Steve Gerrard, now it's Van Dijk, Salah, amazing players. This team is amazing."
