Righteo (slaps thighs), best be off.

It was a good day for Sheffield United who returned to the top of the Championship with a professional 2-0 win at Hull City.

Huddersfield's poor start to the season continued as they were beaten 1-0 at home by Blackpool and Reading went back up to third with a 2-1 win over Alex Neil's Stoke.

Neil's former side Sunderland take on North East rivals Middlesbrough tomorrow night in the last of the Championship games for this round of matches.

We'll have live coverage of that one, with build up starting at 19:45 BST.

Hope you can join us then and thanks for your company today.

    Cheers!

Right, eight games in, we can start taking the tables seriously now, yeah?

Sheffield United supporters will certainly say so after victory at Hull returned them to the summit.

It was also a good day for Reading, who continued their fine, and, fair to say, unexpected start to the season to keep up with the pacesetters by beating Stoke in the lunchtime kick-off.

Blackpool, just out of view in our table below, climb to 11th with victory at Huddersfield, while Hull slip to 12th after defeat by the Blades.

    Brett Ormerod
Former Blackpool striker on BBC Radio Lancashire

Blackpool had to soak up a lot of pressure that second half and were helped by two fantastic saves from Dan Grimshaw.

It was a deserved win and a great response after defeat in midweek.

Ian Poveda made a very good debut, he was fantastic.

But every Blackpool man did a very good job.

The Blades go top of the Championship with two goals and three points at Hull City.

Oli McBurnie continued his excellent recent form with a low strike to make it three in three before Oscar Estupinan and Ozan Tufan both blew chances to level for the home side.

Sander Berge wrapped up the Blades' first away win of the season with a deflected low drive after carrying the ball into the area.

Hull's 100% start to the season at home comes to an end and they have now lost three of their past four.

    This is so daft.

Lewie Coyle and Oliver Arblaster get into a bit of a contretemps after the teenager stands in the Hull captain's way as he looks to take a free-kick.

Rhian Brewster runs in to defender his teenage team-mate, so Tobias Figueiredo pushes him over.

The Portuguese defender is booked and so is Brewster I think.

Into the final four of the nine minutes of time that were added on and the home fans are heading for the exits.

Their 100% start to the season at home is coming to an end.

    Huddersfield 0-1 Blackpool

Theo Corbeanu celebratesImage source, PA Media

Theo Corbeanu's first-half strike proves decisive as Blackpool climb to 11th in the Championship with what many football folk would term as the classic away-day performance.

The Seasiders needed some fine interventions from keeper Dan Grimshaw to preserve the points - although it will be interesting to see the replays from one close-range double stop that Huddersfield were convinced had crossed the line.

If it's not VAR drama in the Premier League, it's goal-line technology drama in the Championship eh?

Huddersfield dominated all the stats but could not find a way past Grimshaw and Danny Schofield's side remain 23rd with just four points to their name after seven matches. A fall from grace thus far for last season's play-off finalists.

Have to say this has been good from the Blades.

They'll need to pass plenty of tests like this if they're to win promotion back to the Premier League and they've been good value for this today.

Remember, Hull had won their previous three home league games and the Blades were yet to win away from home.

    Huddersfield 0-1 Blackpool

    Huddersfield cannot get the ball.

Finally it's back in their possession via a goal-kick but three minutes of the five added on have already elapsed.

    Into last chance saloon territory.

    Huddersfield 0-1 Blackpool

More smart work from Tangerines keeper Dan Grimshaw, who is arguably man of the match here.

A loose back-header from Marvin Ekpiteta might have gone out for a corner but Grimshaw got there just in time.

    Hull City 0-2 Sheff Utd

NINE minutes of time added on at the end of this one.

Time for Hull to get back in it but, right now, seems more likely it'll be Sheffield United to get a third goal should there be one.

Five minutes to be added on. Can Huddersfield find the equaliser that, probably, on the balance of play and chances created, they deserve?

  14. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 16:51 British Summer Time 4 September 2022

    Hull City 0-2 Sheff Utd

Couple more changes for the Blades.

Manchester City loanee James McAtee and teenager Oliver Arblaster are on for the closing minutes.

The impressive Sander Berge and Tommy Doyle, also on loan from Man City, are removed from the action.

    Huddersfield 0-1 Blackpool

We've seen a couple of stills on social media of that earlier goal-line incident.

They are interesting to say the least. One angle suggests the technology might not have worked in this instance.

For now, it goes down as a great Dan Grimshaw double save but you can be assured everyone of a Huddersfield persuasion will be closely inspecting any replays they can find.

    ALL Sheffield United now.

Former Liverpool man Rhian Brewster drops a shoulder and curls a well-hit shot past the post from 20 yards out.

Blackpool seem to have seen off that spell of Huddersfield pressure and are killing the game off smartly in these closing stages.

Five minutes to go plus stoppages.

Sander Berge celebrates his goalImage source, PA Media

Sander Berge was linked with a deadline day move away from Sheffield United and to be honest I'm not sure why a Premier League team hasn't signed him by now.

The Sheffield United midfielder shows really neat feet before cutting a ball across the face but no takers.

Moments later Rhian Brewster heads over as the Blades look to put the cherry on top of the icing on their cake.

  20. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 16:44 British Summer Time 4 September 2022

    Huddersfield 0-1 Blackpool

More changes for the Terriers with around 10 minutes to go.

Jordan Rhodes has scored four goals in his last six home appearances for the Terriers. He's on for Danny Ward, while Etienne Camara replaces Jon Russell.

This is Danny Schofield's last roll of the dice - the hosts have made all five permitted substitutions now.
