Wolves
Wolves manager Bruno Lage, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "It’s important for us, but the most important is what we are doing in each moment. Players are arriving, we don’t have time to train and have to put them straight into the games. We try our best to have our best strategy and they’re performing well.
"We scored one goal and after that we were very brave in the way we defended. We’re very happy. I told the players it’s one win, we have to build on it. We need to practice. The team that finished pre-season and the team we have now are so different.
"I had a feeling when the fans started singing at the start about 'Bruno Lage ball'. I told the players we have to go outside and give everything. The big attitude and the big energy comes from the fans. That’s why I was there at the end of the game to take all the support from them."
On Sasa Kalajdzic's half-time withdrawal: "He felt something. Nothing special, but we went with Guedes.
On Raul Jimenez's injury in the warm-up: "With Raul it is normal fatigue. He didn’t do pre-season and played straight away. With a good pre-season, he’d be able to play without problems, but not without pre-season. Today it was impossible for him to run - chronic fatigue. Because of that we started with Sasa."

Chelsea
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel, speaking to Match of the Day: "We were lucky today to get the VAR decision in our favour, which was for me the correct decision. We want to turn the game around and keep the three points.
"They do this to every team, it is so hard to create spaces, to create chances. They defend deep and with bodies and physicality. It is hard to find a consistent rhythm, then you go 1-0 down it is almost impossible - to keep believing was very important.
"To get the opener from the bench from Chilly and then from Kai was important because we want spirit. If we have a strong bench we have a higher chance to win.
"You need be tough, I know they can do it. It is also down to the situation, the transfer window is closed, everyone knows he is in the group. We need to improve consistency and this is not over."

What a start it has been at Manchester City for Erling Haaland followng his £51.2m summer transfer from Borussia Dortmund - five Premier League games, nine goals, one assist, two hat-tricks.
He'll become the first man to score 10 goals in the first six games of a Premier League season if he nets today and will also be the first to score three successive hat-tricks if he bags another treble.
But Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez will also be well aware of another of City's recent attacking signings as he is an international team-mate of Julian Alvarez - and had previously tried to convince him to join Villa.
The 22-year-old Argentina forward (who is among the substitutes today) impressed and scored twice in the 6-0 win over Nottingham Forest on Wednesday in his first City league start since his £14.1m move from River Plate in January, which saw him go back on loan to the Argentine side until the end of last season.
"Obviously I wanted Julian to come to Villa and told him before the [2021] Copa America to join us, but it was clear City were already in position," said Martinez in the summer.
“He's a top lad, very humble, a hard worker and he's going to be a superstar."

Aston Villa fans will be hoping they don’t see one of their former stars get on the pitch against them today.
Ex-Villa captain Jack Grealish moved to Manchester City in the summer of 2021 in a £100m British transfer record and is among City's substitutes after three games out because of injury.
This is his second time back at Villa Park on the opposing side since leaving, but only played the last three minutes of City's 2-1 win back in December.
There was only a smatter of boos from the home fans when Grealish's name was announced and the lifelong Villa fan is still held in high regard by many of the supporters here.
He has just shown some silky skills and a great touch when Riyad Mahrez launched a ball high into the air, which got a warm round of applause from those fans that used to sing his name. Grealish also took some time to sign autographs for some of the home fans as well.

Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace defender Joachim Anderson: "It was really intense from the first to the last minute. So much stress on the pitch. It was a good game for people to see, with lots of chances, at both ends. It is always tough to come here, a difficult atmosphere. It was not our best game with the ball but the way we defended and the resilience we showed was fantastic. We need to see out these games. If we don't win, we need to make sure we don't lose.
"I feel good. We had a decent start and are unlucky not to have more points. We need to get better every game. It is about keeping going and be more mature in our game. When to be nice and when to play dirty. This was a good step in that direction, seeing out a difficult game."
FT: Chelsea 2-1 West Ham
West Ham United
West Ham boss David Moyes, on Maxwel Cornet's disallowed goal: "You have seen it, it is a scandalous decision, absolutely rotten from one of the supposedly elite referees - it doesn't say much about whoever sent him over from VAR as well - it is an unbelievable decision against us.
"We feel we got back to 2-2 and it was not down to anything we have done. I support a lot of the VAR stuff, I actually think the goalkeeper dives, he is faking an injury because he cannot get to the next one - he did the same on the first goal as well. The referee somehow gets that so wrong it is incredible."

It was a brilliant goalless game to be fair. Both keepers were excellent but Alexander Isak has to score in the first half, Vicente Guaita reads the chip and holds his ground.
Newcastle had that controversial Tyrick Mitchell own goal ruled out, it looks like Mitchell has pushed Joe Willock into the goalkeeper.

Former Crystal Palace striker on Final Score
Those are the decisions that make managers go grey. I feel as though Edouard Mendy has bought that from the referee. Jarrod Bowen catches Mendy ever so slightly, I think he realises he's palmed it straight to a West Ham player and has stayed down.
FT: Nottingham Forest 2-3 Bournemouth
Bournemouth
Bournemouth caretaker manager Gary O'Neil tells BBC Sport: "We just believed. The first half scoreline was harsh and there were moments we wasted but we were well in the game. Going in at 2-0 was a real blow for us. The boys still believed, made a few changes and dug in. Proud of what we achieved.
"The tactical change gave us control and caused them some problems. Give full credit to the boys, 2-0 down at a tough place especially where they have ben in the last few weeks. Massive for the boys.
"They are the best group I have worked with, intensity wise they are relentless and you saw that today. There is still work to do but the boys put so much in and they deserved that today.
"I enjoyed the second half. The Wolves game and first half here were tough. It has been a whirlwind the last four, five days and the staff still here have been so good for me. The full support."
Asked if he wants the job full-time: "I still haven't considered it, just desperate to get as many points for the club as I can. My thoughts are are now on getting ready for Brighton. Let's get the boys in and get to work."
It's fair to say that Alan Shearer's summary of today's events on Match of the Day tonight could be interesting...

Chelsea 2-1 West Ham
Chris Wise
BBC Radio 5 Live commentator at Stamford Bridge
David Moyes made a beeline straight for referee Andy Madley at full-time. He’s going to have plenty to say about that late West Ham equaliser that was scrubbed off.
A crazy finish because if you spin it back to the 87th minute, Maxwel Cornet should have actually won it for West Ham when the score was 1-1.
FT: Wolves 1-0 Southampton
Southampton
Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "We had good chances to take something. That we don’t score today is normally not possible. Che [Adams] knows it. He’s frustrated because it must be a goal.
"It’s 20 minutes to go and if we equalise, I would like to see what happens then. We created some good moments in the first half but should have scored [in the second].
"Wolves are waiting for these moments on the counter-attack. They have speed and quality up front.
"It is what it is."
FT: Nottingham Forest 2-3 Bournemouth
Nottingham Forest
Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper: "We were good for the 2-0 lead in the first half, controlled the game, looked like the team to threaten the opponent's goal. We were comfortable but it was a really poor first goal to conceded and it set the tone. We looked like two different teams. The second goal was a set-piece and Scott McKenna made an error for the third goal. The performance in he second half cost us the game.
"We certainly didn't manage the second half and conceded three goals at home, that is not good.
"We don't play for a while now so have to make sure it does not linger too long. For large parts of the second half it was not good enough but we have to take it on the chin.
On number of signings: "It is a plan we had in place for the summer. Regardless of what has happened in the last two games, we just have to do better."
FT: Nottingham Forest 2-3 Bournemouth
Guy Mowbray
Match of the Day commentator at City Ground
You didn't see this coming in an entire season of football. Forest were better in the first half, Bournemouth were abject. Gary O'Neil, he switched to three at the back, put Ryan Fredericks on and immediately they are on the front foot.
FT: Chelsea 2-1 West Ham
Chelsea
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel: "It is super tough to score against West Ham, they defend deep and with bodies - the game became more complicated with the goal we gave away.
"It was a huge effort to come back and huge credit to the team, the impact from the bench - full credit to everybody.
"It was a clear foul on the goalkeeper, I had doubts about the first one - but I will not comment, last time I got punished with huge fines. You give your opinion, you will not be fined.
"It was not easy to keep the belief, it is hard to attack fluid and create chances against West Ham, nobody plays an open, spectacular match against them.
"We take it now step by step, we will try to use this momentum - things are clear now, we can demand full commitment to everything. We are in the middle of creating this and it is not finished."
Chelsea 2-1 West Ham
Danny Murphy
Match of the Day pundit on BBC Radio 5 Live
I don't think I have any words that I can say out loud [about the decision to rule out West Ham's equaliser]. It was a ridiculous decision - I can't find any logic in it.
Again, another poor decision and it wasn't the only one today, unfortunately.
It's going to be a theme on Match of the Day tonight. [Fellow MOTD pundit Alan Shearer shouts "rubbish" in the background]
The disappointment for David Moyes will be huge. To lose out on a decision like that - ridiculous is the only word you could use.
FT: Newcastle 0-0 Crystal Palace
Newcastle United
Newcastle boss Eddie Howe, speaking to BBC Sport: "It was an incredible game. Two teams going at it trying to deliver. Barring a slow start - or maybe a 15-20 minute period in the middle of the first-half - the lads gave me everything. How we have jot scored, I'll let you look back and decide.
"There were more presentable ones [than the Alexander Isak chance]. Everything we tried in and around the goal didn't work, even the one we did score. I disagree with the decision. I thought it should be a goal. I thought Joe was pushed. He is running in and is pushed into the keeper. I am not sure what Joe is supposed to do there. For me it is a perfectly good goal.
"You hope it is not one of those days where you get caught by a sucker punch. I have to credit my players for not losing focus and discipline. In terms of effort and the team pulling together it has been really good. We should have more points. One win and a few draws that should be wins, but it is a long season. Performance levels are really good. I hope the football gods level it up and we get points maybe when we're not playing so well."
