It is relief when you are down there. When you are not getting wins and not scoring goals.

It was almost a free hit today. Nobody expected them to win against a Liverpool side who beat Manchester City last week. We expected them to build from there.

Forest showed a lot of character today.

Nottingham Forest have done it!

They have beaten Liverpool 1-0. Great scenes of celebration. Forest off the bottom of the table.

This is a mentality test for Forest, a test of character.

They are against one of the leading attacks in Europe, even if they haven't functioned properly this season. The first thing they did was stick by the manager.

It would be a huge win if they hold on.

Alisson nearly gets there! The corner finds Virgil van Dijk, he is free 10 yards out and heads at goal, it's a wonderful save from Dean Henderson.

Alisson nearly gets to put the rebound away but superb defending from Ryan Yates denies the goalkeeper from a goal.

Liverpool win a corner in the 91st minute. And Alisson charges forwards....

Liverpool can't believe it. Trent Alexander-Arnold's free-kick finds Virgil van Dijk free at the back post, but he can only steer his volley wide. Forest survive again.

Five minutes of injury time to go.

If it stays like this, Nottingham Forest will be jumping over Leicester and moving off the bottom of the table.

It has been a breathless second half after a dull first half. Forest have another chance to wrap up the match, but Morgan Gibbs-White is denied by an excellent save from Alisson to keep Liverpool in this one.

Manchester City have enjoyed a few extra days off after not playing in midweek, but Pep Guardiola has still decided to make three changes from Sunday's defeat at Liverpool.

In-form midfielder Phil Foden drops out, as do skipper Ilkay Gundogan and defender Nathan Ake.

That means starts for Jack Grealish, Riyad Mahrez and Aymeric Laporte.

Despite not being able to find a way through Nottingham Forest on Tuesday, Brighton boss Roberto de Zerbi keeps faith with the same starting XI.

Brighton created lots of chances without being able to score, but Danny Welbeck continues to lead the line with support from Adam Lallana, Pascal Gross, Solly March and Leandro Trossard.
