There were no doubts over that. He was miles onside. Not sure why it took so long for VAR to confirm that! The crowd knew it too.

Anthony Gordon
The officials had ruled it out, but now the correct decision after a VAR check. It is a lovely goal from Everton passing it from defence to attack, Vitalii Mykolenko's low drive was only parried by Vicente Guaita with Anthony Gordon tapping it in.
Anthony Gordon now gets to celebrate.
Everton 1-0 Crystal Palace
The flag is up, but surely this is going to be given. Anthony Gordon puts the ball in the net after the goalkeeper parried Vitalii Mykolenko strike. We go to VAR.

Pep Guardiola made a point of rushing to Riyad Mahrez to slap his hand as a well done before the Manchester City man made his way to the dug-out.
Mahrez ripped some tape off his hand and threw it to the floor in frustration as he walked slowly off the field.
He will be dwelling on that miss for a while I think.
Everton 1-0 Crystal Palace
Michael Olise, with a direct free-kick to the right side of the penalty area, goes for goal and very nearly catches out Jordan Pickford.
Pickford is back peddling and flings himself at it, but is very relieved to see the strike end up on the top of the net and not inside it.

If Riyad Mahrez had taken his chance, this game would have been over by now.
The Algerian's form has been the subject of debate this season and misses like that won't help Mahrez in his attempts to get a regular place in Pep Guardiola's starting line-up.

It's early in the second half but Palace are seeing more of the ball. Everton are still battling well in the middle but it's tight as anything.

Anon: At this rate Haaland is going to beat the most goals in a Premier League season with hat tricks alone.

What a goal, Brighton deserve this.
City are sloppy in possession, Trossard cuts inside, you think he's going across Ederson but he slams it in the near post.
Brighton are back in this!
Everton 1-0 Crystal Palace
Excellent defending from Vitalii Mykolenko helps Everton deny Jordan Ayew and Eberechi Eze. Palace have certainly improved after the break and Patrick Vieira has had a reaction from whatever he told his players.
Leandro Trossard (52 mins)
Back in it!
Moments after Riyad Mahrez should have made it 3-0, Leandro Trossard gets a goal back as he hammers in from the edge of the area.
Game on.

Garett: People are going to question Silva kicking his leg (looking for contact). The ball comes off his thigh to the left side and he swings his leg to control the ball, not make contact. If Dunk completed his stride instead of dangling his leg, then I would say no pen.
