Mickey: Unpopular opinion but that was a foul for the first goal by Haaland. Yes momentum takes him into the defender but if that was the other way round then a penalty would have been given. Also, how was Sanchez foul on Haaland not a penalty. Do they know how to use VAR?

    HT: Everton 1-0 Crystal Palace

    Emma Sanders
    BBC Sport at Goodison Park

It's been scrappy, it's been physical but there have been chances at Goodison Park.

Don't write Palace off, they have come back from going a goal down to win three times already in the Premier League this season!

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has given Everton a more clinical edge though, while midfielder Amadou Onana has been terrific.

City have had an excellent half. Pep Guardiola will be delighted.

Roberto de Zerbi has work to do. Brighton have had their moments, decent possession and caused problems without any goal threats.

    This could be a rout.

    It was never a question.

The crowd have grown a bit restless with some stoppages in play due to head injuries and drop balls by the referee going in Palace's favour. But as we draw nearer to half time it's clear which team will be the happiest going into the break as things stand. Palace have grown into it slightly and have had a few chances but Everton have been the better side.
