This game hasn't got going yet.

We keep getting injuries, which doesn't help.

That's one way to stop Miguel Almiron. Kalidou Koulibaly wraps his leg around the Newcastle forward and sends both of them to the turf. A very sensitive part of Almiron lands on the knee of the Chelsea man. Wince.

Hall has looked very nervous. He linked up the play very well there, he's got terrific pace down that left hand side and Trippier found it hard to go with him.

Hall needs to show a bit more composure. He's very inexperienced, we know that but he just needs to calm himself down.

Chelsea are looking menacing when they initially launch away on the counter. Mason Mount has been the man leading the charge. But the final ball isn't there yet. Lewis Hall is set up again for a cross on the left but slices his delivery behind.

Broja is a talented player, we saw what he could do at Southampton. But at the minute, Chelsea are not offering anything going forward.

Chance! The first proper one for Newcastle.

Miguel Almiron is in the form of his life and you would not bet against him finding the net with a volley from deep in the box. He connects well but fires his effort over.

It all came from good work down the left from Joe Willock, who has been a quietly effective performer for the Magpies this season.

Chelsea want possession to slow Newcastle down. Every time Newcastle get the ball, the crowd are urging them forward. The atmosphere is brilliant.

That's what Chelsea have got to do, take the sting out of the game

The first proper involvement for Lewis Hall going forward on the left. He is found in space by Mason Mount, but his low cross is cut out and cleared.

He needs Armando Broja to give him a better option in the middle.

No suggestions that Mason Mount is taking things easy with the World Cup around the corner. He's charging around, harrying, pressing, trying to stop Newcastle getting an early foothold in this.

Yet to see a prolonged period of quality possession from either side.

Newcastle try to change that down the right but Kieran Trippier is caught offside. Needed an earlier pass to the England full-back.

Thiago Silva does not look too impressed, or ready, to come on this early.

Another World Cup-bound player who will be desperate to avoid injury.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek has left the field for good, though. He'll be replaced shortly.

Fabian Schar is also down for Newcastle. He looked a bit dazed after an early clash with Armando Broja.

Interesting line-up by Graham Potter today. Lewis Hall is at left wing-back where he has hot-shot Miguel Almiron for company on his Premier League debut. Conor Gallagher, who was perhaps a surprise in Gareth Southgate's World Cup squad, is playing alongside Mason Mount behind Armando Broja.

A youthful Chelsea side, for sure.

An early issue for Graham Potter to deal with.
