    Everton 1-0 Wolves

South Korea forward Hwang Hee-chan, fresh from playing at the World Cup in Qatar, looks sprightly with a run down the right but then the delivery is poor, straight into the grasp of England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

    Southampton 0-0 Brighton

Brighton have dominated possession in the opening 13 minutes, but done little with the ball so far.

    Patience is the key.

Since that Grealish comment, Almiron has just turned the page. He's playing with so much confidence and a lot of the praise has to go to Eddie Howe for that.

Howe's got his confidence back up to the point where he's playing with the freedom that he should do. It was a lovely exchange with Bruno and a lovely composed finish. Fantastic goal.

It was a brilliant move for Miguel Almiron's goal. Pure football from Newcastle but Leicester are not out of this - it is a very open game.

Leicester defender Dennis Praet is clattered by Joelinton in the air and is in some pain, holding his side. The physios are on.

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Fulham

Joao Palhinha makes a great challenge to win the ball back just outside the Palace box and Fulham then enjoy a decent spell of possession, working the ball back to keeper Bernd Leno then onto the right wing, where Bobby Decordova-Reid's cut-back is cleared.

  7. Postpublished at 15:13 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2022

    Leicester 0-2 Newcastle

Newcastle have scored two goals in the opening seven minutes of a Premier League game for the first time since January 2007 against Aston Villa.

    Southampton 0-0 Brighton

Another moment of encouragement for Southampton. Another warning sign for Brighton.

Mohamed Elyounoussi is hungry to reach a cross from the left, jumping high and with conviction to meet the ball, but it is straight at Roberto Sanchez.

Leicester are being cut to ribbons at the back.

Miguel Almiron plays a simple one-two with Bruno Guimaraes and glides into the penalty area, almost unopposed.

He must have practiced that finish 10 times in the warm-up and he executes it with aplomb. Newcastle are looking comfortable and it's all too easy.

    Everton 1-0 Wolves

    Steve Sutcliffe
    BBC Sport at Goodison Park

The way Wolves set up for the corner Everton scored from did not bode well with apparent mismatches in height and physicality all over the place.

Quite why Hugo Bueno was left picking up Yerry Mina...

One for Wolves manager Julen Lopetegui to look at.

    Leicester 0-2 Newcastle

Leicester striker Patson Daka makes a mess of a volley from about 10 yards out from Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall's cross.

Brendan Rodgers makes a note in his book. Probably not positive.

  12. Postpublished at 15:10 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2022

    Southampton 0-0 Brighton

Brighton's mint kit immediately makes you think of those post-dinner chocolates which you probably ate too much of last night.

The ones which you might eat after 20:00 GMT.

Anyway, Moisés Caicedo feels queasy for a moment when a wayward pass into his own box nearly sells Lewis Dunk short.

The Seagulls skipper is sharp though and makes sure there is no serious issue.

  13. Postpublished at 15:10 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2022

    Everton 1-0 Wolves

A disastrous start for new Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui.

Now goalscorer Yerry Mina is down on the deck after a coming together with that man Diego Costa, who bundles through the back on his then lands on top like a WWE wrestling manoeuvre.

Chris Wood's goal after two minutes and 36 seconds is the second fastest penalty goal in a Boxing Day Premier League game, after Steven Gerard's for Liverpool in a 3-1 defeat at Stoke City in 2012.

Wood is the second New Zealander to bag on this day in the Premier League after Winston Reid.

  16. Postpublished at 15:09 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2022

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Fulham

Palace defender Nathaniel Clyne wins the ball but his foot is high and he catches Aleksandar Mitrovic on the follow-through. It's a Fulham free-kick about 25 yards out... and Andreas Pereira forces Vicente Guaita to tip it over for another Fulham corner.

    Yerry Mina (6 mins)

First chance of the game, first goal.

It's a simple one too, Dwight McNeil swings in the corner, Yerry Mina peels away from his marker and thumps in a well-directed header inside the far post.

Mina is only in today because fellow centre-half Conor Coady can't face his parent club.

  20. goal

GOAL - Leicester 0-2 Newcastlepublished at 15:07 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2022

    Miguel Almiron (8 mins)

No World Cup break can stop this man.

Miguel Almiron gets the ball on the right wing, cuts in and plays a one-two with Bruno Guimaraes, before ghosting past a couple of defenders on the edge of the box and slotting into the bottom corner.
