    Brentford 1-0 Tottenham

    Tottenham have work to do.

  2. 'Brentford dominant physically'published at 13:19 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2022

    Brentford 1-0 Tottenham

    Stephen Kelly
Former Tottenham defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

It was a great finish [for Ivan Toney's disallowed goal], again it came from Tottenham losing the ball in a comfortable position and one pass through the defence. Brentford have been dominant physically and every time they win the second ball look dangerous going forward.

The lack of service from Tottenham to Harry Kane in and around the middle of the pitch has been poor. Tottenham are not covering themselves in glory at all.

  3. Postpublished at 13:19 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2022

    Brentford 1-0 Tottenham

Ivan Toney is fouled again. This time by Japhet Tanganga. Another free-kick for Brentford.

  4. Postpublished at 13:17 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2022

    Brentford 1-0 Tottenham

Son Heung-min and Harry Kane combine on the edge of the Brentford box before Kane attempts to thread a pass but it does not reach anyone. It has been that sort of half for Spurs.

  5. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 13:14 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2022

    Brentford 1-0 Tottenham

A long ball over the top of the Spurs defence and Ivan Toney shows real composure to finish but the home cheers are quickly ended by an offside flag.

  6. 'Toney and Mbeumo have sixth sense'published at 13:13 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2022

    Brentford 1-0 Tottenham

    Matt Upson
Former England defender on Amazon Prime Video

You see centre-forward partnerships who link up well but Toney and Mbeumo really do have that sixth sense of knowing each others' movements. The number of times you see them flick the ball on to each other is a real strength of Brentford's.

  7. Postpublished at 13:13 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2022

    Brentford 1-0 Tottenham

Tottenham will go level on points with second-placed Manchester City if they win this, but they have looked off it for large parts of the first half.

A big team talk coming up from Antonio Conte.

  8. Stuttering Spurspublished at 13:11 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2022

    Brentford 1-0 Tottenham

    Matt Upson
Former England defender on Amazon Prime Video

It's been a bit of a stuttering half for Spurs. They've had some good flashes - certainy on the right, with Kulusevski.

  9. Postpublished at 13:11 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2022

Japhet Tanganga climbs all over Vitaly Janelt, who crumples to the ground. Brentford's players want the referee to take some action.

Play is stopped to allow Janelt treatment.

I'm a Fulham fan and so Brentford are supposed to be hated rivals - but they are the the model of how to run a smaller club at this level.

Very little threat from Harry Kane so far but how many times have we said that and he pops up with a crucial goal?

To be fair, the England man has not had the best of service. Just the one shot from the striker to date.

  12. Postpublished at 13:07 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2022

Fraser Forster comes to Tottenham's rescue with an important block to keep out Mathias Jorgensen from a tight angle.

Forster then confidently punches clear a Brentford corner.

Ivan Toney is putting in another impressive shift.

He has been in the wars. The Brentford forward has been on the receiving end of a couple of knocks and is currently limping after another tackle.

Spurs' midfield missing Bentancur terribly. Just nothing offensive for Spurs down the middle at all. Another half-time motivational speech from Conte beckons.

Nicholas: Going 1-0 down is getting to a point where it looks like tactical errors by Conte rather than player mistakes

  17. Postpublished at 13:01 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2022

    Brentford 1-0 Tottenham

Tottenham are starting to build some rhythm.

Dejan Kulusevski is their most threatening player but it's Son Heung-min who forces another save from David Raya.

Spurs have conceded the opening goal in each of their last nine games in all competitions, including in each of their last six fixtures in the Premier League, since a 2-0 Premier League home win over Everton on 15 October.

  19. 'Brentford bullying Spurs'published at 12:58 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2022

    Brentford 1-0 Tottenham

    Stephen Kelly
Former Tottenham defender on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

Brentford are all over the pitch physically bullying Tottenham - every second ball, every challenge, every 50-50. Brentford look really up for it. Tottenham just can't deal with the pressure Brentford are putting on them.

  20. Postpublished at 12:58 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2022

    Brentford 1-0 Tottenham

A rare moment of promise from Spurs as Dejan Kulusevski carves out a chance but David Raya gets down to keep out his attempt.

Better from the visitors who have struggled to get going.
