Beautiful finish from Adamu, brilliant goal. Chelsea have started the second half off the pace, yet again. Kovacic guilty of overrunning the ball in midfield. Pulisic did his best to get back to try and stop the cross but he didn't.

Delightful ball in, Adamu concentrated and just controlled it into the net. If you don't keep control of the game and convert your chances, this is what can happen.

No question that the ball touches Kovacic's hand. The Salzburg players and fans are very unhappy with no penalty given.

Two changes for Borussia Dortmund as Thorgan Hazard and Emre Can replace Raphael Guerreiro, who was a doubt, and the suspended Salih Ozcan.

Talking of Dortmund against Manchester City, the teamsheets have just been unveiled...

Borussia Dortmund take on Manchester City later on and, as it stands, the Germans will be joining City in the last 16 before kick-off as Sevilla are currently drawing 0-0 at home with Copenhagen in the other early match.

If it stays that way in southern Spain then it will mean both Sevilla and Copenhagen will no long be able to reach the last 16 of the Champions League.

Safe to say Glenn Hoddle is also impressed with what he's just seen.

"The best 45 minutes under Graham Potter," is how the former Chelsea and England boss describes it.

Chelsea could and maybe should be out of sight. Aubameyang hit that strike hard and it was a wonderful save from Kohn. Once Chelsea found their positions on the field, they created chance after chance and they've looked really really good.

However, this is the Champions League and when you don't convert your chances, when you're on top of the game, especially away from home you could find the second half will be a lot more difficult than you want it to be. That will be Graham Potter's message at half time, you've got to now go and do this all over again but get more goals.

Looking at the bigger picture, Chelsea will qualify for the last 16 as thing stands.

A win here will do it.

Phew. Time for us to catch our breath... not that we want that to end.

A half of football which was very easy on the eye.

Those of a Chelsea persuasion will be very happy at what they've seen as their team lead through Mateo Kovacic's impudent strike.

Another quality save! Salzburg keeper Philipp Kohn denies Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang with another smart stop in the last act of the first half.

Wonderful pass and play from Chelsea. It's crisp, it's at a good tempo and it will be exactly what Graham Potter will have been working on. I think he will just be so frustrated that they have only scored one goal in this match so far. They are causing Salzburg's midfield three problems.

This is dreamy. Another slick Chelsea move cuts open the home defence, all incisive passing and effortless movement, but Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang can't lift it over the keeper.
