When asked about the injury to Beth Mead, Jonas Eidevall simply said "no idea."

It didn't look good for the Arsenal forward who was in tears at full-time.

Arsenal boss Jonas Eidevall speaking to Sky Sports: "We conceded when we were leading so we turned that around. United are good at set pieces but if you concede a corner and a free-kick like that then it's dangerous.

On Arsenal's second goal: "It was a great goal and great moment. Unfortunately now of course the overriding feeling is disappointment but we keep on going. There were things we did well today there's things we're disappointed with. It's about keeping our heads up high and recovering and getting ready for game against Juventus."

On title race getting tight: "That's not the thing I care about, I care about getting ready for the next game and trying to make as good a performance as possible."

Manchester United

More from Marc Skinner: "Before the game, I asked Ella [Toone] to step up. She is Man Utd through and through and I wanted to see her maturity keep growing and to show it on the biggest stages. I'm going to keep expecting that of her. The way that she moves and holds the space. She has grown in knowing when to arrive. The top players have that. It's a privilege of mine to coach this team and I want to get the best out of them because I want them to be the most successful team in the country."

On Milly Turner's performance: "I didn't like the goal we conceded at the start of the second-half but she has an unbelievable aerial ability and she is the best character. We are building the team around characters and you need people like Milly. She is an ultra-competitive character."

Manchester United

Speaking to Sky Sports, Man Utd boss Marc Skinner said: "I'm surprised I can still talk. It was an amazing performance. I actually felt when we went 2-1 behind, that we would come back. I asked them before the game to show personality in these bigger games and I've had that in abundance tonight so I'm the happiest manager on the planet.

"What we probably lose out on with the other teams is the experience we have, but night like this give us that. When you become autonomous on the football field and make your own decisions you become a ruthless team and that is what we saw in the performance tonight.

"Just believing you can get over the line is something hard to coach. You have to work with the individual to help them believe that. We know we have wonderful talent but if you have the experience like we had tonight to get over that and be successful. it will help us grow."

More from Alessia Russo on whether she will be signing a new contract at United:

"I'm just enjoying my football, loving playing now. Nights like tonight are really special, we'll see what happens.

"Home and away fans were amazing tonight."

On playing at Old Trafford in a few weeks: "Old Trafford's our home and we got a taste of it last season but after the summer we hope to see even more of them in the coming weeks."

On statement of beating a top three side: "A lot of the time when we come against a top three side we miss out marginally, tonight showed everyone we have the belief and potential to score in the dying moments of the game and we can't afford to slip up. We were pressing even in the dying minutes.

"I just want to be on the field as much as I can, it was really nice to play a full 90 minutes."

Manchester United

Manchester United forward Alessia Russo speaking to Sky Sports:

"The whole second half was a whirlwind, we come to these games and want to test ourselves and come away with three points so we're really happy."

On her match-winning goal: "Katie Zelem and I have a good connection on set pieces, I know where she's looking to hit and I just tried to get my body in front of the ball. I just used a bit of strength and aimed for the target.

"The result reflects that belief, the moment we'd conceded we came in as a group and we had an honest conversation. We knew we wanted to win it and we knew we could so it's just about finding that bit of extra motivation."

On motivating each other to come from behind: "When we're on the pitch especially in front of 40,000 people we can't hear what's coming from the side so we have to take ownership as players and that's what we did tonight.

"We go into every game hoping and ready to get three points. We know where we want to go as a team but we also know what it's going to take and moments like tonight show that."

Leah Williamson and Rafaelle Souza being missing for Arsenal is difficult to handle. They've got away with it in games up until now but this was always going to be their biggest test.

It's no surprise that Manchester United have made the most of that and they've taken advantage of moments where Arsenal weren't at their best and been punished for it. We didn't see that against Chelsea but they've certainly been more ruthless tonight.

Arsenal didn't make the right decisions in and out of possession. They had a spell in the second half where they got the two goals and you thought they'd go on to run away with it but they didn't seem to be themselves.

Whether that's tiredness from the international break or the injuries they've got to big players like Leah Williamson and Rafaelle Souza who will grab hold of games like that and make the team better. They don't have that in there at the moment and it's a difficult moment for them.

You have to give credit to United they didn't come here today to sit back and soak the game up they took the game to Arsenal and maybe Arsenal weren't ready for that.

So where does that leave the table?

Arsenal, Man Utd and Chelsea all 18 points, while Man City are three points behind in fourth.

The top three are separated on goal difference after all winning six and losing one of their seven games.

Absolutely huge result. We've been talking about whether Manchester United have got it in them to come back from disappointment to challenge the big teams but tonight you can see they have absolutely learnt form that game against Chelsea a couple of weeks ago.

On the balance you'd say they deserve it, in terms of chances created particularly in the first half they were the better team. They've ridden the storm and come back from adversity going 2-1 down against a very good Arsenal team - but they've fought their way back into the game and made the most of two excellent set pieces from Katie Zelem to take the win.

What an advert for the game at a time when there's no Premier League football, two fantastic teams and it blows the title race wide open which is what we all want to see.

What a finish!

It was quite a scrappy game but it had several thrilling moments.

It's a fourth away win in a row for Manchester United, and probably their most important one.

No one is leaving the Emirates early. There are lots of tired legs out there now.

A couple of pitch invaders bring the game to a brief halt. It's not what Arsenal need as they look to find an equaliser.

United's tails are up and Martha Thomas is given far too much time to fire the ball into the box.

Lucía García beats her marker and diverts the ball towards goal but Manuela Zinsberger keeps it out.

Caitlin Foord is in space down the right hand side and she has a couple of Arsenal shirts to pick out in the box, but she's leaning back and the ball misses everyone.

Now then, we have some finale on our hands.
