Aston Villa v Arsenal (12:30 GMT)

Right then, let's focus solely on the early game now as Arsenal and Aston Villa players walk out onto the pitch.

The Gunners will be desperate for a win after a testing week but their former manager Unai Emery will want to put a spanner in the works.

  2. Leeds manager search latestpublished at 12:24 Greenwich Mean Time 18 February 2023

    Everton v Leeds (15:00 GMT)

    Adam Pope
BBC Radio Leeds on Football Focus

The white smoke that was promised by the chairman didn't appear so it seems to be a bit of a hiatus. As far as we know the number one target is Andoni Iraola at Rayo Vallecano. If today's game doesn't go well and the game at Elland Road against Southampton next week then I think the urgency will be right there. They will be clamouring for someone to come in.

  3. 'No excuses for Chelsea'published at 12:23 Greenwich Mean Time 18 February 2023

    Chelsea v Southampton (15:00 GMT)

    Sutton's predictions

Chelsea boss Graham Potter really has to win this game, because otherwise he is going to come under massive pressure.

Potter's side missed more chances against Borussia Dortmund in midweek and we know they are missing a cutting edge - but there can't be any excuses for not beating Southampton, who are bottom of the table, don't have a manager and are in a real mess.

    Sutton's prediction: 2-0

  4. 'Two sides fighting for a European place'published at 12:23 Greenwich Mean Time 18 February 2023

    Brighton v Fulham (15:00 GMT)

    Sutton's predictions

This should be a decent game between two good teams. Who would have thought at the start of the season that they would be sixth and seventh now, and both fighting for a European place?

Brighton were wasteful against Palace, which is why they dropped points in that one - as well as the VAR offside decision that went against them after the line was drawn on the wrong Eagles defender.

Fulham always create chances too, home and away, so I think there will be goals here - especially if Brighton find their shooting boots.

    Sutton's prediction: 3-1

  5. 'Palace need more of a threat'published at 12:21 Greenwich Mean Time 18 February 2023

Brentford v Crystal Palace (15:00 GMT)

    Sutton's predictions

Brentford might have appeared fortunate to extend their unbeaten run last weekend thanks to the controversial goal they scored against Arsenal, but they played really well and could have even beaten the Gunners.

The Bees have not lost any of their past 10 league games, but they've not just been getting good results - their boss Thomas Frank is flexible with his formations and their performances have been impressive too.

In contrast, Crystal Palace picked up a point - against Brighton - last time out, but if truth be told they were pretty hopeless. They will have to carry far more of a threat here if they are going to get anything from the game.

    Sutton's prediction: 2-0

Mark: As a Premier League neutral I would like to see Arsenal win this, just to keep the pressure on Man City. Lose or draw today and it could be the beginning of the end for the Gunners in the race for the title.

  7. 'Dyche is the right man for Everton'published at 12:16 Greenwich Mean Time 18 February 2023

    Everton v Leeds (15:00 GMT)

    Fara Williams
Former England midfielder on Football Focus

The more personable you are with your players the more you get from them. Everton need someone like Sean Dyche because he will get the very best out of them. He is the right man to keep them up.

The buy-in from the crowd is important and it's important they bounce back against Leeds. They have certainly improved in a short space of time under Dyche.

  8. 'Forest will have a real go at home'published at 12:14 Greenwich Mean Time 18 February 2023

Nottingham Forest v Man City (15:00 GMT)

    Sutton's predictions

This is a tricky game for Manchester City because Nottingham Forest have such a good record at the City Ground, where they have not been beaten in the league since September.

I still worry about City's left-back position and you can get at them defensively. Forest will have a real go too at home.

But we saw Pep Guardiola's side flex their muscles when they beat Arsenal to go top of the league on Wednesday. It was a reminder that they have players who can produce moments of brilliance.

City's second-half display really was excellent and I don't even think they have really hit their stride yet, which is ominous for the rest of the Premier League - there is much more to come from them.

    Sutton's prediction: 0-2

Arsenal in general, and Arteta in particular, need to stop complaining about decisions that in the cut and thrust of top level sport, sometimes go for and against you. All that matters is how you react to it. A lack of composure at this stage of the season could completely derail Arsenal. Set the culture from the top down.

  11. Wolves too streetwise for Bournemouth?published at 12:07 Greenwich Mean Time 18 February 2023

    Wolves v Bournemouth (15:00 GMT)

    Sutton's predictions

Performance-wise, Bournemouth have actually done all right in the past couple of weeks but it must be frustrating for their manager Gary O'Neil that they haven't taken more points.

Wolves seem to have improved in all areas too and I like what Julen Lopetegui has done since he took charge.

However bad Southampton were, to come back to beat them with 10 men shows that he has instilled a bit of spirit in his side, and I think they will be too streetwise for Bournemouth.

    Sutton's prediction: 1-0

Aston Villa v Arsenal (12:30 GMT)

    Dion Dublin
Former England striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

There's not a team talk needed for Aston Villa. They need to start winning games for themselves, Unai Emery will definitely want to get one up against his old side.

Aston Villa will not have a lot of the ball so concentration levels out of possession is possibly a way of winning the game.

Villa Park will be packed and that 12th man, the Holte End, can draw the ball into the net.

  14. Arteta calls for Premier League protection against 'difficult' schedulepublished at 12:00 Greenwich Mean Time 18 February 2023

    Media caption,

Mikel Arteta: Arsenal boss wants changes to "difficult" Premier League scheduling

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has urged the Premier League to protect clubs against "very difficult" turnarounds between games.

Arteta's side lost 3-1 to title rivals Manchester City in the Premier League on Wednesday evening..

The Gunners will be back in league action only 63 hours after the defeat when they take on Aston Villa in Saturday's 12:30 GMT slot.

"There are certain rules with the Champions League," Arteta said.

"When you are playing on Wednesday night and then you cannot play [on Saturday lunchtime]. So I think that should apply to any competition."

  15. 'Definitely in the title race'published at 11:56 Greenwich Mean Time 18 February 2023

Man Utd v Leicester (Sunday, 14:00 GMT)

    Dion Dublin
Former England striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Manchester United are definitely in the title race. I've seen the difference Erik ten Hag has brought to the football club.

Ten Hag is a disciplinarian, wants the best for the football club and to make sure everyone is proud of playing for that club.

The way he handled Cristiano Ronaldo was brilliant and for him to go was the best for both parties. Marcus Rashford being late and then being left out was a big thing.

Rashford has been the main man for 12 or 14 games so during that period being able to say 'you were late, get yourself on the bench', that's brave.

  16. Qatar's Sheikh Jassim and Ineos make bids for Man Utdpublished at 11:54 Greenwich Mean Time 18 February 2023

Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, the chairman of one of Qatar's biggest banks, has confirmed his foundation will bid to buy Manchester United.

BBC Sport understands that Ineos, owned by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, also officially made a bid before Friday's 22:00 GMT 'soft deadline' for proposals.

Billionaire Ratcliffe had already stated his interest in buying United. The Glazer family, who bought United in 2005, are considering selling as they "explore strategic alternatives".

Sheikh Jassim's Qatari consortium said: "The bid plans to return the club to its former glories.

"The bid will be completely debt free via Sheikh Jassim's Nine Two Foundation, which will look to invest in the football teams, the training centre, the stadium and wider infrastructure, the fan experience and the communities the club supports.

"The vision of the bid is for Manchester United to be renowned for footballing excellence, and regarded as the greatest football club in the world."

    MingsImage source, Getty Images

Unai Emery says Tyrone Mings was rewarded with a new contract because he is in the best form of his career.

The centre-back signed a two-year contract extension with Villa on Friday, committing him to the club until 2026.

Emery said: "I am very happy with him. I think his commitment here is great and his performances are great.

"He is in a good way. The club was speaking with me about the possibility to extend the contract and I agreed.

"I think he is in his best moment in his career. Of course we are trying to improve as a team collectively and individually. With him we are trying to help him, to support him.

"He is strong and I think he can progress with us. He is very integrated in the club and I think the supporters love him."

Mings missed the defeat by Manchester City, but Emery has confirmed he will return to the squad for Saturday's game against Arsenal.

He said: "He is in the squad. He trained today and yesterday, but we are going to decide tomorrow morning before the match. The last moment is going to be very important."

  19. 'Arsenal showing a soft centre'published at 11:48 Greenwich Mean Time 18 February 2023

Aston Villa v Arsenal (12:30 GMT)

    Dion Dublin
Former England striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Arsenal have to get back to where they were. They have just started to show a soft centre.

I've been singing Arsenal's praises, how they had found a steely edge but now they've just lost it slightly.

People are finding a weakness with Arsenal and they have to get it back. When you're winning games fatigue doesn't come into it, but because they have had a blip we are starting to find things wrong.
