  5. Aberdeen 'exhausted'published at 17:33 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

    Rangers 2-1 Aberdeen

    Tom English
    BBC Scotland's chief sports writer

Wright did brilliantly, real intent and put a nice ball into Roofe. Roofe is a good finished, a better finisher than Morelos. His last goal was April 2021. That was an extra time winner against Braga. Has he got another today? He's had a horrible run of injuries, but he's a classy player and he might be the difference.

The Aberdeen players must be exhausted, they've emptied themselves. They've been let down by their captain and it opened the door for Rangers who walked right through it.

Rangers have found a bit of character under Michael Beale. Some steel, some determination in games when they've not been playing at their best. They've not been at their best again today, but the decision of Stewart has helped them massively.

Beale has found something and it's important to have in a team, the determination not to give up when things aren't going for you.

  17. GREAT SAVE!published at 99mins

    Rangers 2-1 Aberdeen

So close to an equaliser for Aberdeen's 10 men - and from a former Celtic man.

Substitute Jonny Hayes lets fly from 20 yards, but goalkeeper Allan McGregor does well to save at the second attempt.

  18. Dons must defend betterpublished at 17:16 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

    Rangers 2-1 Aberdeen

    Willie Miller
Former Aberdeen defender on BBC Sportsound

It's a great substitution, isn't it? Wright just burns past Matty Kennedy, who has had a long hard game but he has to defend that better. When it comes in, McCrorie and Scales have to defend it better, too.

  19. Perfect substitionspublished at 17:16 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

    Rangers 2-1 Aberdeen

    Neil McCann
Former Rangers winger on BBC Sportsound

There's a substitution with impact. Beale has thrown Wright out there to be aggressive in the wide area. He knows he's against Matty Kennedy, who's not a full-back and is tired, fatigued and put a lot into the game. Wright has absolutely roasted him.

Is he good enough to pick out Roofe? Yes he is. It's a beautiful wee finish, it's all about making good contact.

There's another delay as the referee heads over to the VAR terminal.

It seems to be a communication problem rather than any problem with the Rangers goal.
