Jarrod Bowen is the key for West Ham in an attacking sense. He is the man to make things happen. He drives in from the right and sends in a low ball that the scrambling Southampton defence just about manage to get away.

Fabianski has been very neat and tidy when he's been called upon this afternoon.

He anticipated Lavia completely, good goalkeeping.

West Ham clear the initial corner but only as far as that man Romeo Lavia. He drives in a low shot that almost wrong foots Lukasz Fabianski before he readjusts and saves.

Romeo Lavia is a fine footballer. He wins the ball in midfield and sets up a Saints attack than brings them a corner.

Michail Antonio is getting instructions from Kevin Nolan on the West Ham bench. Looks like he'll be on soon. I'd imagine for Danny Ings.

West Ham are in control of this game, partly through their own ability and partly through Southampton's poor passing.

But if they switch off, they could let their opponents in, which Lucas Pacqueta did just then when he lost possession inside his own half.

The difference between victory and a draw in this game for either side is vast.

Selles is up on his feet talking to his backroom staff to see what else he can do.

First involvement for Saints sub forward Kamaldeen Sulemana.

It is a proper contest in midfield. There are some big tackles going in to try and wrestle control of the game one way or the other. Saints' Romeo Lavia and West Ham's Declan Rice are at the forefront.

Ruben Selles has seen enough. His first changes see Kamaldeen Sulemana and Carlos Alcaraz on for Sekou Mara and Mohamed Elyounoussi.

Southampton have got to create more chances.

So far West Ham will be very happy with how this game is panning out because they're in total control. They'll want to see this out and get the clean sheet.

West Ham having to do some defending here. Southampton get in down the left but after Romain Perraud's cross is flicked on to Stuart Armstrong, his return cross is aimless and easy to clear.

Theo Walcott is then flagged offside as he moves a fraction early to try to latch on to another ball through the West Ham defence.

Much like the first half, we've begun at quite a pedestrian pace.

Southampton try to get Theo Walcott in with a chipped ball over the top but it is a touch too heavy.
