  1. goal

GOAL: West Brom 2-1 QPRpublished at 15:24 British Summer Time 10 April 2023

    Lyndon Dykes (21 mins)

Now that is what you call a header!

Out of nothing, Ilias Chair whips a cross into the box and Lyndon Dykes leaps and sends it into the back of the net.

That will help ease QPR fans' nerves perhaps that all is not yet lost.

    Cardiff 0-0 Sunderland

Not a huge amount of action in front of either goal yet in South Wales.

Pierre Ekwah made a good break for Sunderland but his shot is blasted high over the bar.

Leyton Orient scoreImage source, PA Media

League Two leaders Leyton Orient started the day 10 points clear of second place and their promotion seems to be a formality.

Ruel Sotirou has given them an early lead against struggling Harrogate.

There's been great starts for a trio of play-off hopefuls.

Mansfield, Stockport and Bradford all lead at home.

Hiram Boateng gave the Stags the lead against bottom side Rochdale after six minutes.

Kyle Wootoon has put the Hatters 1-0 up over Newport and Scott Banks has bagged for the Bantams against Sutton.

Eighth-placed Salford are a goal down at midtable AFC Wimbledon, Kasey McAteer with the goal there.

    Coventry 0-1 Watford

    Hamer is denied by Hamer.

Coventry's Gustavo Hamer has his shot on target saved by Watford's Ben Hamer.

    A quality effort.

That's City's best effort so far.

  5. goal

GOAL Wigan 0-1 Swanseapublished at 15:16 British Summer Time 10 April 2023

    Joel Piroe (14 mins)

If bottom side Wigan are going to get out of trouble, they really will have this match down as a must-win. This was not part of the plan!

The Wigan defence is nowhere to be seen as the ball finds it way to Joel Piroe in the box and he calmly sends it beyond Ben Amos.

Number 16 of the season for the Dutch striker.

  6. goal

Boy oh boy it goes from bad to worse for QPR, who are in real relegation trouble... We're only 15 minutes in, remember.

Semi Ajayi doubles West Brom's tally after Marc Albrighton breaks down the right and crosses the ball across goal into the box.

Seny Dieng in the QPR goal manages to save the original tap towards the net, but he can't get near Ajayi as he pokes the rebound into the goal.

Forest Green's stay in the third tier could be coming to an end today.

If they lose and other results don't go their way they'll be relegated.

They're already a goal down at play-off chasing Wycombe, Chem Campbell with the strike.

Sheffield Wednesday also desperately need a result, albeit for a very different reason.

the promotion hopefuls are winless in six but Dennis Adeniran has put them a goal up against struggling Accrington.

In-form Peterborough have taken the lead at home to Exeter City through Alex Hartridge's own goal.

Speaking of in-form, Crystal Palace loanee Jesurun Rak-Sakyi has got his third in five for Charlton to put them a goal to the good against improving Burton.

    Luton 0-0 Blackpool

Luton have only lost twice in 2023. Blackpool have only won twice in 2023. It should be a home banker, right?

Seasiders interim manager Steven Dobbie has made five alterations from the Good Friday defeat to Cardiff and he will want to keep this tight for as long as possible.

  9. goal

GOAL: West Brom 1-0 QPRpublished at 15:12 British Summer Time 10 April 2023

    Brandon Thomas-Asante (9 mins)

West Brom celebrateImage source, PA Media

Perfect start for West Brom and the worst possible one for freefalling QPR, as Brandon Thomas-Asante gives the Baggies the lead inside 10 minutes.

It's a pretty straightforward goal from a set piece as John Swift whips it into the box and Thomas-Asante bundles it into the net from close range.

    Preston 0-0 Reading

Brad Potts with a decent opportunity for Preston.

He flies into the box but his header is just wide.

  11. GREAT SAVE!published at 15:10 British Summer Time 10 April 2023

    Norwich 0-0 Rotherham

Positive stuff from Norwich in the opening stages in Norfolk.

They would be ahead but for some two fines saves by Rotherham goalkeeper Josh Vickers.

He keeps out a long-range effort from Sam McCallum, but the one from Josh Sargent inside the box is an excellent one.

Clinical from play-off chasing Watford on the counter.

There's a full programme of League One fixtures this afternoon, so let's run through what's what...

It couldn't be tighter at the top of the table, but it's second placed Ipswich who are in blistering form after racing to their eighth consecutive win on Good Friday. They take on 16th placed Cheltenham, while league leaders Plymouth look to continue their excellent home form this season as they host Lincoln.

Third placed Sheffield Wednesday's form against teams at the bottom of the table hasn't been great of late. They might be level on points with Ipswich as it stands, but are winless in six games a struggling Accrington side desperate to stay in the third tier.

While bottom side Forest Green could see relegation back to League Two confirmed today if they lose to Wycombe and other results go against them.

We’ve got a total of nine matches kicking off in the Championship at 15:00 BST, as the Easter Monday football feast continues.

Bottom of the table Wigan are staring relegation in the face as it stands and picking up three points today is vital if they have any hope left of staying up. That being said, they host a Swansea side who are unbeaten in their last three games.

Cardiff City took a massive three points from their win over relegation rivals Blackpool on Friday and hope to channel that energy into their game against Sunderland, a team they have beaten in their last three meetings.

Fifth placed Millwall look to consolidate their position in the play-off places as they travel to a Hull team that are winless in their last five.

Coventry’s hopes of reaching the top six remain alive unlike their opponents Watford, who have fallen to 12th in the table after two losses on the bounce.

While we have a west midlands mid-table clash as 16th place Birmingham take on 14th place Stoke.

Tony Mowbray's Sunderland side might not have won in their last four games, but with pockets full of that much leftover chocolate this afternoon he can't really go wrong whatever the result at the Cardiff City Stadium.

The Black Cats are on course to end the table safely in a mid-table spot, based on their current position of 11th, although if they can pull a rabbit out of the hat against the Bluebirds today they could keep their slim play-off chances alive.

Cardiff are bouyed by their win over Blackpool and are aiming to put more distance between themselves and the bottom three if they can.
