A high-tempo opening two minutes, with Bristol City breaking into the Middlesbrough area - although no-one is there when Sam Bell pulls the ball back in the box to do much with it.

Nigel Pearson makes two changes to his Bristol City side from Friday's win over Stoke.

Andy King and Harry Cornick come into the starting XI.

Over at Middlesbrough, Michael Carrick also makes two changes to his side with Matt Crooks and Marcus Forss in to start.

Middlesbrough’s loss to Burnley on Friday – which sealed Vincent Kompany’s side’s promotion back to the Premier League – leaves them in fourth, nine points behind Sheffield United, with automatic promotion surely out of reach now.

Boro lost when they travelled to Bristol last season and the Robins produced a good win against Stoke in their last outing, to move them up to 13th.

The hosts’ are strong at home although their form generally has been inconsistent of late; of their last seven games they’ve won two, lost three and drawn two.

We are only halfway through the Easter Monday EFL bonanza and still have two big Championship games to bring you today.

• Sheffield Wednesday end their six-game winless run with a 3-0 win over struggling Accrington and go back to the top of the table.
• Plymouth fall to a shock 2-0 home reverse by midtable Lincoln to slip to second and Ipswich concede a first goal since 11 February to tie 1-1 with Cheltenham.
• Fourth-placed Barnsley secure an eighth straight home win with a 2-1 success against Shrewsbury and Peterborough go fifth with a 3-1 win over Exeter City.
• Play-off chasers Bolton and Derby held to 1-1 draw by MK Dons and Cambridge respectively.
• Bottom side Forest Green lose 2-0 at Wycombe but their relegation isn't quite confirmed just yet.
• Charlton beat Burton 3-2 and Bristol Rovers fought back from a goal down to win 2-1 at Fleetwood.

• Third-placed Luton come from behind to beat relegation-threatened Blackpool 3-1 to move within five points of Sheffield United.
• Millwall, in fifth, slip to a 1-0 defeat at Hull after an Adama Traore goal.
• Preston move level on points with Blackburn in the final play-off spot after an injury-time winner from Brad Potts in a 2-1 victory keeps Reading in the bottom three.
• Goals from Lyndon Dykes and Chris Martin see QPR recover from two goals down to draw 2-2 at West Brom.
• Coventry stage a second-half revival as Matty Godden and Ben Sheaf score in a 2-2 draw with fellow play-off hopefuls Watford.
• Joel Piroe grabs two as Swansea win 2-0 at bottom club Wigan.
• Norwich miss the chance to move into the top six as they are held to a 0-0 home draw by Rotherham.

A whole lot of nothing in this goalless draw at St Andrew's.

With neither team having a great deal to play for, we expected as much, both Birmingham and Stoke happy to grind out this Championship match.

UNBELIEVABLE FINISH AT THE RACECOURSE!

Wrexham have beaten Notts County 3-2 in an absolute ding-dong between the top two thanks to an injury-time penalty save from Ben Foster in the home goal.

He denies Cedwyn Scott and the Welsh side are now three points clear of the Magpies at the top of the National League with a game in hand.

At the other end, former Championship side Scunthorpe United have been relegated to National League North.

The Iron have now suffered back-to-back relegations, having exited the Football League after 72 years in 2022.

Their relegation to the sixth tier of English football was confirmed with a 2-0 home defeat by Oldham on Monday.

Into stoppage time at Barnsley and Shrewsbury have pulled one back against the 10-man home side.

Killian Phillips has given them some late hope.

Fellow play-off chasers Bolton have conceded an injury-time leveller to lowly Cambridge, Sam Smith with his 11th of the season.

Those two first-half goals from Joel Piroe secure the points for Swansea.

A bleak afternoon for bottom club Wigan. The Latics are close to miracle territory - nine points from safety with five games to go.

Preston seal the win with an injury time header from Brad Potts.

It thrusts them up to 7th in the Championship table and keeps their playoff hopes alive.

It's a crushing defeat for Reading who thought they were back in it when they equalised on the 83rd minute.

But Paul Ince's side lacked creativity and they enter the relegation places.

A disappointing afternoon for Norwich. They could have gone fifth with a win. They drop a place to eighth with this goalless draw.

A useful point for Rotherham. They edge four points clear of the bottom three.
