Andi Weimann times a run perfectly to win Bristol City a corner.

They take it short again and when the ball comes into the box the home fans are shouting for a penalty for a shove in the box but the referee is having none of it.

Seconds later, Boro are breaking fast down the other end of the pitch and Ryan Giles fires a shot well off target.

    Matt Crooks

Five short minutes and Middlesbrough - out of nothing really - have wiped out Bristol City's lead.

It's a really nice bit of play from Middlesbrough who one-touch pass the ball around the Robins defence before picking out Matt Crooks in space.

Crooks beats the offside trap and slots the ball beyond Max O'Leary into the back of the net.

    Aaron Ramsey

    Game on.

Aaron Ramsey pulls a goal back for Middlesbrough with a perfect diving header to direct the ball inside the far post.

It comes at the end of some nice patient, build-up around the Robins' box before Tommy Smith crosses the ball in and Ramsey gets his head on the end of it with plenty of power.

Getting the goal so early in the half is really good for the game because if Middlesbrough want to get anything out of the match they have to come for Bristol City now.

Bristol City could then pick them open again.

    Harry Cornick (49 mins)

Perfect start for Bristol City as Harry Cornick gets his first goal for the Robins and doubles their lead.

Middlesbrough's defence is picked wide open as Sam Bell sees an effort saved by Zack Steffen but it falls right to Nahki Wells on the byline. Wells squares it across goal and Cornick has the easiest of tap-ins to open his account for the club.

Wells goes for it from the free-kick and his shot is on target but it goes straight at Zack Steffen who makes the save.

    Nigel PearsonImage source, Rex Features

Middlesbrough are pushing for promotion back to the Premier League and one man who knows just what it's like to take the club to the top tier is their former player Nigel Pearson.

He might be in the opposite dugout this evening, but during his playing days Pearson twice captained Boro to Premier League promotion in 1994-95 and 1996-97.

We imagine Pearson hasn't got much time for nostalgia tonight though and will be desperate for his side to hold their lead through the second-half and take all three points.

But the game is not over yet.

    Neil Maddison
Former Middlesbrough midfielder on BBC Tees

The goal is an absolute sucker punch, it certainly is.

It's been decent game of football, both sides passing it around.

Ryan Giles has been Boro's main threat in terms of delivering the ball into the box - some of his deliveries have been magnificent, but we haven't been able to put them away.
