    Exeter 0-1 Plymouth

    Brent Pilnick
BBC Sport at St James Park

The Pilgrims are top as it stands - and their fans are letting their rivals know about it.

They will be two points clear of second-placed Sheffield Wednesday who visit Burton later and four points above third-placed Ipswich who host Charlton this afternoon.

    Matt Butcher (70 mins)

    HUGE goal in League One.

Plymouth take the lead with a stroke of fortune, through Matt Butcher's deflected effort.

The Argyle midfielder gets the ball back from Niall Ennis after a short corner and his right-footed shot bounces off former Pilgrim Will Aimson and into the net.

    HT: Sheff Utd 1-1 Cardiff

As it stands, a point for Sheffield United would give them a six-point cushion on third spot ahead of the 15:00 BST kick-offs.

A draw for Cardiff would lift them to 19th and two points clear of the relegation places.

  4. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:24 British Summer Time 15 April 2023

    Sheff Utd 1-1 Cardiff

Somehow it remains all square after 45 minutes at Bramall Lane.

Both sides had big chances to take the lead just before the break.

But as it stands, James McAtee's well-taken goal is cancelling out Sory Kaba's penalty for relegation-threatened Cardiff.

    Sheff Utd 1-1 Cardiff

First-half injury time has been packed with chances!

This time James McAtee goes for pure power to try put Sheffield United ahead, but he blazes his chance over the bar.

  6. Cambridge lead Peterboroughpublished at 13:23 British Summer Time 15 April 2023

    League One latest

A big goal in League One right on the stroke of half-time in one of the lunchtime derbies.

Harrison Dunk has fired Cambridge United in front against local rivals Peterborough in first-half stoppage time.

Victory would not take Cambridge out of the relegation places, but they'll go level on points with 20th-placed Oxford United if they claim the three points.

In the Devon derby between Exeter and Plymouth it's still goalless with around 25 minutes remaining.

Now it's Adam Davies with goalkeeping heroics at the other end.

Cardiff captain Joe Ralls is somehow allowed to run onto a loose ball in the box, and his low effort demands a crucial save from Davies.

    Sheff Utd 1-1 Cardiff

We are into the first of five minutes of first-half injury time and Iliman Ndiaye has a huge chance to put Sheffield United ahead for the first time.

But he doesn't get enough power on his angled effort and Ryan Allsop gets his left hand to it.

    Sheff Utd 1-1 Cardiff

It's not only goal-for-goal at Bramall Lane, it's also foul-for-foul at the minute.

This time Oli McBurnie catches Cedric Kipre. The home fans are getting vocal about it.

  10. Postpublished at 40 mins

    Sheff Utd 1-1 Cardiff

A few challenges flying in now, as Jack Simpson goes into Jayden Bogle.

James McAtee is the latest down to get treatment for Sheffield United.

  11. YELLOW CARDpublished at 38 mins

    Sheff Utd 1-1 Cardiff

Sander Berge is the first Sheffield United player to be cautioned, and he knew exactly what he was doing.

It was cynical as he just grabbed at Jaden Philogene as the Cardiff City man tried to race up the middle.

It would have been interesting to see what would have happened if Philogene was allowed to get away there.

That yellow came just moments after Iliman Ndiaye had shot well saved by Ryan Allsop at the other end.

    Sheff Utd 1-1 Cardiff

After a delay for treatment on Jack Simpson, we are back under way.

He also appears to have shaken off the knock and is straight back onto the pitch.

    Sheff Utd 1-1 Cardiff

Jack Simpson lands awkwardly after going in to an aerial challenge with Tommy Doyle.

A free-kick comes of it, but Simpson is not looking very comfortable as the medics head onto the pitch.

  14. Postpublished at 31 mins

    Sheff Utd 1-1 Cardiff

The game has settled into a much steadier tempo now, but with a win so important to both sides I imagine that will not be the case for long.

For Sheffield United this is the first of four Championship home matches on the spin.

As far as pathways back to the Premier League go, having four games at Bramall Lane fall like that has to make the Blades feel like they have sure footing for the run in.

Today is undoubtedly one of those very important steps if they are to return to the promised land of top-flight football.

    Sheff Utd 1-1 Cardiff

Allowing James McAtee to skip into the box to level like that is no doubt a blow for Cardiff, but the visitors are quick to show they remain a massive danger.

Jaden Philogene tests Adam Davies at the other end with a shot, but the goalkeeper is equal to it and holds comfortably.

    James McAtee

    Sheffield United have their equaliser!

James McAtee takes the ball outside the area and is allowed to run at the defence.

He shapes to shoot, selling a bit of a dummy which Cardiff's defence tries to block.

Space opens for the Manchester City loanee McAtee, who then slides the ball home.

Sabri Lamouchi questioned the attitude of his players last week, and they are showing their French boss a different side of themselves today.

Joe Ralls has a crack from distance and his goal-bound effort is blocked. The visitors just seem to be lining up to have a go at the minute.

Sory Kaba only arrived at Cardiff City in late January from Danish side Midtjylland, but that was his sixth goal of the season to become the Bluebirds' leading scorer in the Championship this term.

  19. 'High intensity, low on chances'published at 12:52 British Summer Time 15 April 2023

HT: Exeter City 0-0 Plymouth Argyle

    Brent Pilnick
BBC Sport at St James Park

A half low on chances but high on intensity, this Devon derby is goalless at half-time.

You feel the pressure will be on Argyle as the second half wears on - they know three points here will put the pressure on Sheffield Wednesday and Ipswich Town ahead of their matches later.

It's also still goalless in the Cambridge United v Peterborough game in League One. 20 minutes gone there.

  20. goal

GOAL: Sheff Utd 0-1 Cardiffpublished at 19 mins

    Sory Kaba

Sory Kaba goes straight down the middle to score from the spot.

He tries to throw Adam Davies off with a stuttered run up, and it is enough as he drills Cardiff into the lead.
