They're just looking to soak up any kind of pressure Inter. They're happy to let Milan have the ball, they don't mind them passing it about.

They almost want Milan to come out and commit, and get people into the box.

The moment they win the ball back on the edge of their own box they're looking to get forward quickly and in numbers.

Defend well, and when we can break out and commit men forward, do it properly.

Wonderful play from Inter skipper Lautaro Martinez who spins away from danger and drives forward.

He's eventually cynically brought down by Sandro Tonali on the halfway line who's lucky to escape a booking.

Well, Harry, Rafael Leao has been directly involved in more goals than any other AC Milan player across all competitions this season (13 goals and 10 assists).

He's been quiet so far though.

It's a far more aggressive start from Milan.

Tonali in particular struggled to get into the game in the first half of the first leg.

He's a good player and he's started this game with a completely different mindset. He's being physical, aggressive.

The first requirement you have in any derby is to have that sort of mindset and determination. Milan are showing that so far tonight.

AC Milan are enjoying a healthy spell of possession, knocking things around patiently.

Nicolo Barella is back for Inter to clear away Davide Calabria's latest cross into the box.

This second leg won't finish goalless. I'm calling it now.

Those moments we've just seen with Diaz, it's got to go in.

If you are wanting to get through this tie, you have to take those chances.

Chances at both ends.

Denzel Dumfries lays the ball off to Nicolo Barella but his first-time shot is blocked by AC Milan keeper Mike Maignan who stays big.

It wouldn't have counted anyway as Edin Dzeko was offside in the build-up.

What a miss.

I cannot believe that that hasn't hit the back of the net.

Brilliant play from Tonali, gets to the byline and gets his head up to pick out Diaz.

It's a poor strike along the floor. If Diaz gets any height on that, it's a goal.

He looked almost caught in the headlights - should be a goal, 100%.

Should be 1-0 AC Milan.

Sandro Tonali does brilliantly down the left, getting round his man before cutting the ball back.

Brahim Diaz meets it but doesn't use enough power and Andre Onana is able to scamper across and keep it out.

Oooh, chance for AC Milan as Andre Onana can't meet a deep cross. Olivier Giroud nods the ball back across goal but Inter defender Matteo Darmian is first to it, heading the ball behind for a corner.

Inter's Nicolo Barella is given acres of room on the edge of the AC Milan area. He's able to turn but he snatches his shot which flies well over the bar.

AC Milan are losing the midfield battle, just like they did in the first leg.

Rooted Onana. Absolutely rooted. I don't think he saw it.

It was a shot from such range from Hernandez, about 40 yards. He was that far out that I don't think people thought he would take on the shot.

A lovely strike he put his foot through it. It was always rising, ended up a foot or two over the bar, but a good effort.

Quite an open start so far.

Early chance for Inter. An early cross from Federico Dimarco eventually falls at the feet of Edin Dzeko whose fierce volley is palmed away by AC Milan keeper Mike Maignan.

While at the other end Theo Hernandez has a strike from about 40 yards out which swerves in the air and very nearly drops into the top corner. The keeper was rooted.

Where's your optimism?

Back at San Siro and it's all Inter, although their latest spell of possession ends with another foul on an AC Milan defender.

Inter go on the attack from the off with Denzel Dumfries launching a long throw into the area.

But AC Milan are let off the hook as they win a cheap free-kick for a push off the ball.
