Neither of these teams have had a particularly good year in Serie A this season.

In fact, both are battling it out to even be in this competition again.

Napoli have already won the Serie A title. Inter face Fiorentina in the Italian Cup final.

  2. 'Return of Leao important and worth the risk'published at 19:16 British Summer Time 16 May 2023

It is absolutely a risk worth taking bringing Rafael Leao back into the side, for multiple reasons.

For one thing he brings out the best in Theo Hernandez, who hasn't really been firing on all cylinders. The partnership they have both on and off the ball is important, we saw Denzel Dumfries do really well for Inter on the other side and they capitalised on that width.

If Inter are concerned with trying to shut down the threat of Theo Hernandez and Rafael Leao, Milan effectively shut down the threat of one flank for them.

  5. Dzeko 'so good' for 14 yearspublished at 19:06 British Summer Time 16 May 2023

Edin Dzeko in the 2009 Ballon d'Or rankings finished 13th. He was the 13th best player in the world 14 years ago. And now he's still scoring important goals.

I just think the longevity, he's not the only one, but it's still very rare to still be able to play at this level, after being so good 14 years ago, and still having an impact.

  6. 'Dzeko shouldn't be underestimated'published at 19:03 British Summer Time 16 May 2023

I think Dzeko is one of those players who, we're rating him by saying he's underrated, it's a very flawed concept by just suggesting that.

His career shouldn't be underestimated. He's been the top scorer in three of the top five leagues. In Germany, in England and in Italy.

Last week Inter boss Simone Inzaghi opted for the 37-year-old Dzeko to lead the attack, with Romelu Lukaku on the bench, and it didn't take long for that decision to be vindicated as the former Manchester City striker steered home a brilliant finish from a corner.

It was Dzeko's fourth goal in this season's Champions League.

He's up top alongside Lautaro Martinez for Inter tonight.

  9. Team news - Leao returns for AC Milan, Inter unchangedpublished at 18:53 British Summer Time 16 May 2023

Inter Milan v AC Milan (Agg: 2-0 - 20:00 BST)

Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi has named an unchanged side following last week's 2-0 first-leg victory over derby rivals AC Milan.

That means Lautaro Martinez and Edin Dzeko lead the attack, with Romelu Lukaku once again starting on the bench despite his double in Saturday's 4-2 win over Sassuolo.

Inter Milan XI: Onana, Darmian, Acerbi, Bastoni, Dumfires, Barella, Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco, Martinez, Dzeko.

AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli, meanwhile, has made three changes as his side aim to complete a memorable comeback at San Siro.

The big news is that Portugal winger Rafael Leao is fit to start after missing the first leg because of a thigh injury.

Malick Thiaw and Junior Messias also come in, as Alexis Saelemaekers and Simon Kjaer drop to the bench - and Ismael Bennacer misses out.

AC Milan XI: Maignan, Calabria, Thiaw, Tomori, Hernandez, Krunic, Tonali, Diaz, Messias, Leao, Giroud.

In last week's first leg Inter Milan took a big step towards reaching the Champions League final as they beat their city rivals in a thrilling Milan derby.

In a game that had been anticipated for weeks in Italy and was witnessed at the ground by a vocal and passionate 80,000-strong crowd, Inter made the perfect start when Edin Dzeko volleyed home in the eighth minute.

The goal silenced the AC Milan fans - the designated home side for this tie in the stadium the two sides share - as they significantly outnumbered the Inter supporters.

And the hosts were stunned further three minutes later when Henrikh Mkhitaryan swept a shot beyond Mike Maignan after being set up by Federico Dimarco.

Inter Milan are hoping to reach their first Champions League final since they won the competition back in 2010.

As for fierce rivals AC Milan, they need to overcome a two-goal deficit if they want to reach their 12th final in Europe's premier competition.

    Shall we?
