  1. CLOSE!published at 14:52 British Summer Time 27 May 2023

    Reading 0-1 Chelsea

    So nearly an equaliser!

Reading collect the loose ball after Chelsea had cleared the initial free-kick, the ball is swung in from the left and Justine Vanhaevermaet is there six yards out...

...but gets the header all wrong and skews it wide. How big a miss could that be?

    Brighton 0-0 Leicester

Brighton are playing some lovely stuff at times.

A wonderful one-touch move sees Julia Zigiotti Olme feed Lee Geum-min on the edge of the box and the South Korea striker's first-time reverse flick finds Elisabeth Terland, who volleys just wide.

Some goal that would have been.

There it is! Sam Kerr is inevitable. She missed once and she wasn't missing twice.

The away fans are here in numbers and there was a huge roar when that went in. They have been chanting "Chelsea, champions" throughout the match already.

Reading have an uphill battle now.

  6. 'It's that Reiten and Kerr combination yet again'published at 14:49 British Summer Time 27 May 2023

    Reading 0-1 Chelsea

    Jenna Schillaci
Former Spurs captain on Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

It's that combination again between Reiten and Kerr, we've seen that so often this season.

Really patient build up from right to left from Chelsea, and a delicious ball into the box from Reiten.

Excellent run to the front post and Kerr nods it home from point-blank range.

The news is filtering through to the Liverpool supporters that Chelsea are 1-0 up.

    Sam Kerr (18 mins)

    It had been coming!

Brilliant footwork from Guro Reiten and an equally good cross from the left.

Sam Kerr was there to attack it and power the header past Grace Moloney. She wasn't missing that one and Chelsea edge closer to the WSL title!

Massive chance for Leicester to take a huge step towards safety as Remy Siemsen slips Hannah Cain clear but the Welsh striker drags her one-on-one effort wide of the goal.

  10. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 14:47 British Summer Time 27 May 2023

    Reading 0-0 Chelsea

Chelsea are turning up the heat on Reading now!

Lauren James muscles her away into the box but has her shot blocked and the BLues win a corner.

From the set piece, the ball comes out to Erin Cuthbert. She plays a one-two with Sophie Ingle but her shot is tipped onto the bar by Grace Moloney. So close!

Still a long way to go though!

    Brighton 0-0 Leicester

It's Katie Robinson again getting in behind the Leicester back-line and this time she beats the offside trap.

Two players to pick out in the box to her left but her low cross hits Foxes defender CJ Bott and ricochets to grateful goalkeeper Janina Leitzig.

  13. 'Definite yellow'published at 14:45 British Summer Time 27 May 2023

    Rachel Brown-Finnis
    Ex-England goalkeeper on BBC One

Ella Toone's got the speed but she decided to commit the foul early on and allow her side to get back in position.

Definite pull, no argument for the yellow card, but it's a lovely turn on the edge of the box from Kearns to get free.

Chelsea fans will hope that isn't a sign of things to come this afternoon...

You would put your house on Sam Kerr scoring that! Reading have started really well too so that would have killed their momentum.

  15. CLOSE!published at 14:44 British Summer Time 27 May 2023

    What a miss!!!

Chelsea should be 1-0 up. It's nice play down the right to free Eve Perisset and she puts the cross in.

It gets all the way to Sam Kerr at the far post. She's completely unmarked but fires over the bar. What a chance!

    Brighton 0-0 Leicester

    Ben Miller
    BBC Sport at Broadfield Stadium

You don't envy Courtney Nevin and Ashleigh Plumptre trying to stop Katie Robinson from prospering on Brighton's right.

Robinson's usual direct running and eye for goal saw her enter the penalty area on her side early on and pick out Elisabeth Terland, whose delightfully improvised flick almost went in.

Kayleigh Green, who'd surely love a goal on her Seagulls swansong, then drove a powerful shot from distance just wide. The home fans behind the goal were half-celebrating that one when Green hit it, with supporters in the stands off their seats.

It's been an even game since then, although Leicester have struggled to create genuine danger when they have approached the penalty area.

    Karen Bardsley
Former England and Manchester City goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

Reading certainly give a lot of teams a run for their money.

They defend really well, typically in a mid to low block. It's difficult to break down.

I just don't see really how Reading are going to score - they have struggled to score a lot this season.

Lauren James has Chelsea's first real shot of the game.

The ball is played down the channel for Sam Kerr, the striker holds it up well and lays it off for James.

Decent power on the shot but it sails over the bar.
