  3. How do Chelsea keep achieving success?published at 15:24 British Summer Time 27 May 2023

    Reading 0-2 Chelsea

    Anita Asante
Former England defender on BBC Football Focus

They have a very competitive squad. Those players are constantly playing for places in the team and Emma Hayes uses lots of rotation.

They're a team of winners. They have that winning mentality, have won a lot as a club and they want to continue that legacy.

  4. 'Liverpool have frustrated Unitedpublished at 15:23 British Summer Time 27 May 2023

    HT: Liverpool 0-0 Man Utd

    Fara Williams
Former England midfielder on BBC One

I think Liverpool have been really organised, a bit like when they frustrated Chelsea a few weeks ago.

I think United haven't got enough players on the pitch to take control of the game.

They are waiting for the half to get Marc Skinner's thoughts. We'll probably see a different team in the second half.

  5. Moments of quality gives Chelsea advantagepublished at 15:22 British Summer Time 27 May 2023

    HT: Reading 0-2 Chelsea

    Emma Sanders
BBC Sport at Select Car Leasing Stadium

Kelly Chambers waited for her players to head down the tunnel before following them. They have given it a good go, Reading, but two moments of quality from Chelsea has really killed them off.

They would need to produce a miracle in the second half to stop Chelsea winning the title and - more importantly for Reading - have any hope of preventing their relegation.

  6. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:22 British Summer Time 27 May 2023

    Brighton 0-0 Leicester

Not sure how this one is goalless.

Leicester have spurned three huge opportunities while Brighton have fashioned some decent chances themselves.

But with Reading trailing by two goals at home to Chelsea, Leicester's safety is all but assured regardless of the result in Sussex.

She's been sensational from day one, Rachel Daly. Just what the Aston Villa crowd needed, what the club needed.

It's not looking good for Reading is it? They haven't been brave enough at all.

For Chelsea it has felt like a sort of training match for them, their movement has been excellent.

I think there may be plenty more goals to come in the second half.

  11. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:21 British Summer Time 27 May 2023

    Reading 0-2 Chelsea

Just the half that Chelsea would have wanted. They've pretty much dominated from start to finish and after goals from Sam Kerr and Guro Reiten, they are just 45 minutes away from being crowned WSL champions once again!

For Reading, it is 45 minutes to try and save their season. They'll rue the big missed chance from Justine Vanhaevermaet at 1-0 and, as it stands, they are going down.

  12. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:20 British Summer Time 27 May 2023

    West Ham 2-1 Tottenham

Beth England's header gave Spurs the lead at West Ham but Emma Snerle's curler and a Kit Graham own goal have turned things around in the Hammers' favour at the interval.

Eighth place looks secures for the hosts.

    Should be 1-0 Man Utd!

Katie Zelem launches one over the top for Nikita Parris who volleys across goal.

But Liverpool keeper Racheal Laws makes a brilliant diving save to push the ball on to the post. Liverpool hanging on in first-half injury time.

    Rachel Daly (45+2 mins)

    A record-equalling goal!

Rachel Daly has her 22nd WSL goal of the season, matching Vivianne Miedema's single-season record.

The corner came in from the left, Sabrina D'Angelo fumbles when she should claim it.

Remi Allen's shot amid the scramble is blocked but the ball comes out to Daly, who lashes it through the crowd of bodies and in.

    Liverpool 0-0 Man Utd

    Neil Johnston
    BBC Sport at Prenton Park

The away end at Prenton Park is very subdued now. The loud singing and chanting is no longer. The realisation is beginning to sink in - the WSL title is heading Chelsea's way again.

  17. 'You can't afford to give gifts to a team like Chelsea'published at 15:16 British Summer Time 27 May 2023

    Reading 0-2 Chelsea

    Jenna Schillaci
Former Spurs captain on Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

An individual error, Esther Mayi Kith just miscued the clearance and Reiten was in one v one against the keeper.

A great finish by Reiten, composed, through the legs of the keeper.

You can't afford to gift chances to a side like Chelsea.

A massive mistake and that could be the error that ends up sending Reading down.

  18. 'She was catapulted off the pitch!'published at 15:16 British Summer Time 27 May 2023

    Liverpool 0-0 Man Utd

    Rachel Brown-Finnis
    Ex-England goalkeeper on BBC One

She catapulted her off the pitch and she hit that concrete wall. I thought initially Galton got the ball, it was just the force that shot her off the pitch,

The chance was dealt with decently. It's one of those where you just have to get something on it to save it. You have to make a very late decision and Laws did really well.

  19. Postpublished at 15:16 British Summer Time 27 May 2023

    Liverpool 0-0 Man Utd

Chance for Man Utd as Ona Batlle's cross is only just palmed away by Racheal Laws underneath her own crossbar before her defenders clear things away.

And now we have a stoppage in play as Leah Galton tackles Emma Koivisto on the sideline. Koivisto skids off the pitch and into a brick wall on the sideline. Thankfully she's OK to carry on but that could have been very bad.

    Reading 0-2 Chelsea

Reading are clinging on as we enter stoppage time at the end of the half.

They look down and out as it stands but if they are to have any chance of coming back and staying in the WSL, they cannot afford to concede another before the break.
