  1. 'The focus is always winning the next game'published at 15:46 British Summer Time 12 May 2023

Brentford v West Ham (Sun, 14:00 BST)

    Brentford

Brentford boss Thomas Frank on his ambitions for the remainder of the campaign: "I’m a big believer that if you carry momentum into the end of the season, you carry it into the next season. Every point and every performance is so important. Maybe we try different tweaks, but the focus is always on winning the next game"

  2. European semi-final 'unbelievable achievement' for West Hampublished at 15:43 British Summer Time 12 May 2023

Brentford v West Ham (Sun, 14:00 BST)

    Brentford

Brentford boss Thomas Frank on how West Ham have experienced different fortunes in the Premier League and Europe this season: "It’s incredibly difficult to be consistent in this league. It’s about adding layers every single season. They’ve built a squad that can compete in the Premier League and Europe. European semi-finals two years in a row is an unbelievable achievement.

"West Ham are a good team with a good squad. No matter who they put out there they will be a difficult opponent. They are very solid defensively and very good on the counter. They have good offensive players and are really good on set-pieces"

  3. 'Hopefully we can keep it going'published at 15:39 British Summer Time 12 May 2023

Brentford v West Ham (14:00 BST)

    West Ham United

West Ham manager David Moyes on his players' fitness ahead of the weekend: "Still assessing quite a lot of the players. I am hoping Michail Antonio is not too bad. We will assess him but he should be good for Sunday.

"We had a really good win at the weekend, vital three points. Semi-final in midweek, good couple of days, hopefully we can keep it going."

On confidence from recent results: "I think the players' character is what we have had in abundance over the last year or two.

"We've struggled with some performances but I always felt the players had character. We would like our league position to be stronger than it is."

On being distracted by Europe: "Not difficult to focus, we all know the importance of it. Really worked hard to get the points required."

On Angelo Ogbonna's availability after illness: Not sure, this morning, still not feeling great. It's a real blow for us before Man City and it has lingered about. Today he is still not great.

"Vladimir Coufal starting to do some light jogging, slight hamstring tweak. Wants to play and get back quickly."

  4. 'Planning will only start once we have kept our Premier League place'published at 15:36 British Summer Time 12 May 2023

Brentford v West Ham (Sun, 14:00 BST)

    West Ham United

West Ham boss David Moyes on making any changes from last night's Europa Conference League win: "It is a possibility but I need to see what players are available, Thursday-Sunday does have an effect.

"We're in the later stage of cup competition and away next leg. The important thing is to retain our Premier League status."

On Thomas Frank and Brentford's quality: "Brilliant job. Brentford have been continuing to climb and Thomas Frank has continued to improve them. He has done a great job.

"They have a model, not unlike AZ. They are more than capable of beating the top teams, really healthy position all season in the league.

"You have to get the points yourself. Really good result against Man Utd. Need another to stay in the Premier League."

On planning for next season: "The planning has been put on the back burner. Your planning would go completely if you went down.

"A lot of the planning will only just be starting once we have kept our Premier League place.

"Obviously we have been watching a lot of games and doing a lot of scouting but the truth is focus has been on staying in Premier League."

  5. 'Our plans are to have Declan here'published at 15:35 British Summer Time 12 May 2023

Brentford v West Ham (Sun, 14:00 BST)

    West Ham United

West Ham boss David Moyes on making a lot of changes in the summer: "No, I would hope not as much work as last summer, brought in more than you would ideally want to bring in.

"I see more tinkering than huge stuff, not loads of work. Changes here or there.

On the club's plans for staying up or going down with Declan Rice: "We honestly hope Declan Rice stays, that is the biggest thing. We would love him to be a West Ham player but we are aware that might not be the case come the end of the season.

"That is one of the scenarios. Our plans are to have Declan here but we are also fully aware there is a good chance that we don’t have."

  6. 'Nature of Chelsea defeat disappointing'published at 15:33 British Summer Time 12 May 2023

Crystal Palace v Bournemouth (Sat, 15:00 BST)

    Bournemouth

Bournemouth manager Gary O'Neil on his side's response following the 3-1 defeat by Chelsea in the Premier League last weekend and other losses this season: "We always try and prepare, regardless on what has gone before. I've said it a lot this season, regardless of what has happened in the game before, we try and give ourselves the best chance of winning the next one.

"The real disappointing thing around the Chelsea one was we didn't really... I mean, there are different ways of deserving things but the way the game went, the [expected goals], the long spells; we should never have lost that game. So the nature of the defeat was disappointing."

  7. Arteta refuses to discuss future of Ramsdale, Saka & Xhakapublished at 15:33 British Summer Time 12 May 2023

Arsenal v Brighton (Sun, 16:30 BST)

    Arsenal

It is being reported that England pair Aaron Ramsdale and Bukayo Saka are close to signing new deals at Arsenal, while Granit Xhaka has been linked with a move back to Germany.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta batted away questions on their futures and is keen for focus to remain solely on their challenge for a first league title in 19 years.

"Obviously where we are with each individual is probably different in terms of timing but the clarity is there," he said of deals for Ramsdale and Saka.

"We have communicated to each of them what the intentions are and we are trying to get that done as quickly as possible but respecting and not losing any focus on what is the real deal right now.

"The moment there is anything to announce with any individual, we will do that as a club like we always do. It's not the moment to talk about that."

Arteta on rumours linking Xhaka with a move to Bayer Leverkusen: "As you can understand I'm not going to be replying to certain stories. I'm extremely happy with Granit, I think he is having an incredible season, probably the best season he has had at the club and we are really happy to have him."

  8. 'Selling out Wembley is no longer a pipe-dream'published at 15:31 British Summer Time 12 May 2023

Women's FA Cup final: Chelsea v Man Utd (Sun, 14:30 BST, live on the BBC)

    Chelsea

The Women's FA Cup final between Chelsea and Manchester United takes place this Sunday at a sell-out Wembley Stadium. You can watch the game live across BBC One, the BBC iPlayer, BBC Sport website and mobile app.

Chelsea boss Emma Hayes has been speaking to the media this afternoon and was asked does it get any better than this?: "I don't know, I can think about some of those beaches I'm looking forward to in the summer!

"In terms of it being the game everybody looks forward to domestically, it is certainly that. We've reached that point where selling out Wembley is no longer just a pipe-dream and the FA, finally, don't have to listen top me anymore, banging on about how important it is to sell the stadium out - so well done to everyone."

We'll be hearing more from Hayes later.

  9. Team news: Cash back for Villapublished at 15:25 British Summer Time 12 May 2023

Right-back Matty Cash is available for Aston Villa after an eight-match absence because of a calf injury.

Diego Carlos, Boubacar Kamara and Leon Bailey all made comebacks as substitutes against Wolves last week, while fit-again Philippe Coutinho was also on the bench.

Spurs defender Clement Lenglet suffered a shoulder problem against Crystal Palace but is expected to be fit.

Hugo Lloris, Ryan Sessegnon and Rodrigo Bentancur remain out.

  10. 'Hopefully we can find a place where we are consistent 'published at 15:23 British Summer Time 12 May 2023

Aston Villa v Tottenham Hotspur (Sat 15:00 BST)

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur's interim manager Ryan Mason on beating Roy Hodgson's Crystal Palace last week: "A special day because we won. Ultimately that was the only goal and focus and thankfully we did that in a difficult match.

"I thought we managed the game quite well and we were good value for the three points. Recognising and understanding we have another tough one at the weekend and we have to go there as prepared as possible to hopefully get a good result.

On a year since the win over Arsenal: "Football can change very quickly, good and bad as we’ve seen. For me the common trend with teams that are successful and are doing well is they are consistent.

"They are consistent with how they work and who they are and hopefully we can find a place where we are consistent as a football club."

  11. 'I have never questioned the fans - they have been amazing'published at 15:20 British Summer Time 12 May 2023

Everton v Man City (Sun, 14:00 BST)

    Everton

A final word from Everton manager Sean Dyche on the travelling fans' reaction to Monday's win against Brighton: "I would prefer that reaction at the end of the season, once we have got the job done, but during the process our fans have been amazing.

"I have never questioned the fans. They have been amazing since I got here - home and away.

"I always have an extra bit of respect for away fans, purely because it costs a lot of money, especially to a place like Brighton because it is mile away. So they got a reward for with a very good performance and we thank them for their backing."

And can the Goodison Park factor work in Everton's favour against Manchester City: "Since I have been here, the fans across the board have been very supportive. That's all we can ask them, to carry on regardless and keep supporting the team."

  12. 'We need to finish the season strongly'published at 15:18 British Summer Time 12 May 2023

Aston Villa v Tottenham Hotspur (Sat 15:00 BST)

    Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs interim manager Ryan Mason on Harry Kane’s latest record and whether there will be a statue: "I think that’s probably a question to answer when he’s not playing here. Then you can really recognise and appreciate the work he’s done here. Right now that’s probably a bit premature.

"The reality is Harry is still a Tottenham player and we are still focused on him achieving more great things with this great football club and hopefully he can do that.

On former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger saying Kane should stay another season: "Our focus is on Harry until the end of the season like it is on every other player.

"At the end of the season there are some decisions to make for different people and different players.

"Ultimately the focus for every player in that dressing room right now is the next three games because we need to finish the season strong and be in a good place come the summer."

  13. 'We needed to rest, reload, recharge'published at 15:17 British Summer Time 12 May 2023

Man Utd v Wolves (Sat, 15:00 BST)

    Manchester United

Here are the key lines from Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag's news conference before Saturday's match at home to Wolves:

    • Top scorer Marcus Rashford is "more than doubtful" for the game at Old Trafford with a leg injury. Ten Hag said: "We have players who can score goals and they have the chance now to show[that]."
    • In more positive news, defender Raphael Varane is set to return after two months out with an ankle injury.
    • Ten Hag admitted United have benefited from having no midweek fixture after back-to-back defeats at Brighton and West Ham: "We needed it to rest, reload, recharge, get the energy back."
    • Asked about the difference being at home will make, Ten Hag said "we believe in the way we work, the way we play and the togetherness with the fans", adding: "It is is difficult for opponents to arrive here and face us."
    • The Dutchman said individual mistakes like the ones made by David de Gea and Luke Shaw in the past two matches are "part of football", but he added they "should not happen when you’re focused".
    • Ten Hag said United can "ignore" Liverpool's winning run because "everything is in our hands".

Man Utd v Wolves (Sat, 15:00 BST)

    Manchester United

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag on team news before Saturday's game at home to Wolves: "Raphael Varane is back, Marcus Rashford is doubtful – he has a problem, an injury to his leg and is a big question for tomorrow. He's doubtful, more than doubtful, so a big question mark."

On impact of Varane's return: "He has experience, he knows how to win and will guide us."

  15. Arteta dismisses claims Zinchenko out for seasonpublished at 15:13 British Summer Time 12 May 2023

Arsenal v Brighton (Sun, 16:30 BST)

    Arsenal

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta says it has not been confirmed whether Ukraine defender Oleksandr Zinchenko will miss the remainder of the season with a calf injury.

He also added that centre-back William Saliba will be unavailable for Sunday's game at home to Brighton.

"We have another session tomorrow before the Brighton game," said Arteta. "We’re trying to get players back before that day. With William it’s for sure he’s not going be fit for this game and we’re doubting him for next game."

  16. 'If Pep's doing it, I'll take that' - Dyche on making substitutespublished at 15:09 British Summer Time 12 May 2023

Everton v Man City (Sun, 14:00 BST)

    Everton

Everton manager Sean Dyche on his similarity with Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola: "There was noise recently about me not making subs. Do you know Pep has made less than me? He has made two I think on average, or something like that. I'm in pretty good company, I think. If Pep's doing it then I will take that.

"If I like what I see I tend not to tinker too much, unless it is an injury or someone lacking fitness. But if the team are operating in the right manner - and at Leicester I thought we were. I thought we were dominant in the second half and that team could go on and win it. We didn't in the end, but I thought we could.

"You try to observe what is going on in the game, speak with your staff, we are constantly sharing thoughts, then make your decision."

  17. We can't rely on semi-final impact - Dychepublished at 15:02 British Summer Time 12 May 2023

Everton v Man City (Sun, 14:00 BST)

    Everton

More from Sean Dyche on whether the match coming in between the two legs of Manchester City's Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid will help Everton: "These teams, these clubs, particularly Manchester City over the past couple of years, they are used to these big games and used to dealing with what they have to. We can't rely on that.

"If it plays its part then it might well do, but we can't rely on that. We have to go in with everything right.

"Against these top teams, in my experience, you have to have everything right. You might have to rely on decisions on the day, you have to defend well and take your chances, all those things have to come into play.

"We can't overthink about whether they have big games around them or not. They are used to that, we have to think about and remain focussed on what we are going to do."

  18. 'The legs, pace, directness & quality is a good mixture'published at 14:52 British Summer Time 12 May 2023

Everton v Man City (Sun, 14:00 BST)

    Everton

Everton manager Sean Dyche on his front three - Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Alex Iwobi and Dwight McNeil and whether they can hurt Manchester City: "The legs, the pace, the directness, the quality is a good mixture, obviously. They [City] have a bit of it themselves, we know that.

"But it is something we have grown since I have come here, with fitness as well, with Dom especially.

"We like the way they are operating. We like the pace of the attack we are managing to get, particularly in the last couple of games - with the draw at Leicester and win against Brighton.

"Mainly, for me, there has been some real good quality and behind that you need a defensive framework that can give you the base to work from.

"The rules stay the same against whoever you are playing, it is just you have to get all the details right against the top sides. If you don't get the details right, Manchester City will work on you, so we have to make sure we are on top of every detail."

  19. 'Arsenal are going to win the three games'published at 14:49 British Summer Time 12 May 2023

Everton v Manchester City (Sun, 14:00 BST)

    Manchester City

Manchester City's manager Pep Guardiola on Arsenal's run-in: "Definitely Arsenal are going to win the three games in hand. So we know what we have to do to win the Premier League.

"Well I'll like the games against Brighton, Nottingham and Wolves, I would like them to drop points. But I think they will get the nine points."

  20. Tavernier still out for Cherriespublished at 14:43 British Summer Time 12 May 2023

Crystal Palace v Bournemouth (Sat, 15:00 BST)

    Bournemouth

Bournemouth manager Gary O'Neil on his squad for the trip to Crystal Palace: "Marcus Tavernier is still out for this one, as is Hamed Traore.

“We are very hopeful that we will see Traore before the end of the season. Elsewhere the rest of the squad are in a good place and they’re available.

“Kieffer Moore is back as well after his concussion protocol, he’s come off the bench recently and he gives us another outlet so I’m pleased to have Kieffer back.”
