Four minutes of added time to come at the end of the first half, which Spurs are finishing strongly. Brentford are pushing a bit harder for an equaliser, which is leaving space for Spurs on the break - but Son Heung-min sees an attempt blocked.

  2. YELLOW CARDpublished at 44 mins

    Tottenham 1-0 Brentford

Yves Bissouma goes flying into a challenge, it's slightly unnecessary in the middle of the park, and it's very strong. Just a yellow, though.

  3. CLOSE!published at 42 mins

    Tottenham 1-0 Brentford

Arnaut Danjuma is inches away from doubling Spurs' lead.

It's a clever ball by Son Heung-min, which allows Danjuma to meet it with a low, powerful header that travels just wide of the far post.

RE: Rob @12.49...how can loyalty be bizarre? Loyal players are hard to come by anymore with all the money in football.

    Bill, Thurso

Rob, London (12:49), I'm not sure why you think Kane's loyalty is bizzare, he was a boyhood Spurs fan. I think the game needs more of that kind of loyalty and less of whatever you think loyalty is or should be.

Thomas Frank is crouched down, collecting the thoughts of his staff. The Bees, adapting to life without Ivan Toney, have lacked a goal threat so far, but they have grown into this half.

    Tottenham 1-0 Brentford

We've got a break in play as David Raya receives some treatment.

The Bees skipper is back up on his feet and looks like he'll be OK to continue for now. One to keep an eye on.

28 league goals for Harry Kane this season for an average team is exceptional. It's only the ridiculous numbers Erling Haaland is posting that overshadow just how good a player he has been.

    Tottenham 1-0 Brentford

Brentford are just trying to keep Tottenham quiet for a period by keeping possession at the back.

The Bees quickly spark into life, though, but Mathias Jensen can't find the target with his strike.

A bigger concern for Brentford is that goalkeeper David Raya has gone down with a problem.

Ryan Mason wasn't happy Yves Bissouma passed it back to goalkeeper Fraser Forster a few moments ago.

Spurs have been on top and he wants them to keep their momentum. The energy has been sapped slightly in the last few minutes.

Harry Kane has now scored 25 Premier League goals from outside the box.

Since the start of 2014-15, only Kevin De Bruyne (27) has netted more.

Today's has to be up there with his best.

Ben Davies beats Frank Onyeka in a tasty 50-50 challenge, to the delight of the home support.

Tottenham are playing with a freedom and confidence that has been lacking over much of the season.

Five shots and four on target for Tottenham.

One shot, none on target so far for the visitors.

So far, so good for Ryan Mason. But only a Harry Kane stunner separates the sides as we get towards the half hour mark.

Spurs are almost in again! The home side launch a quick counter, but Brentford manage to get enough bodies back and Harry Kane is forced off the ball on the edge of the box.

Great work by Kevin Schade to get back and prevent Emerson Royal advancing any further.

The Spurs fans know their side are on top here but they'd like to see their side make it count sooner rather than later...

Rico Henry has made a couple of key blocks for Brentford and the away fans behind that goal have chanted his name a few times. That was another big one.

  17. CLOSE!published at 23 mins

    Excellent defending by Rico Henry!

Son Heung-min gets down the left and lifts a cross towards Emerson Royal, whose header is goal-bound until Henry shuffles back to head it off the line.

A huge round of applause for Lucas Moura as he comes over to warm-up in the corner to my left.

He's leaving the club in the summer but has had some hugely memorable moments during his time at Tottenham.

There was plenty of references to THAT hat-trick against Ajax in the pre-match pitchside interviews.

Lucas Moura receives applause as he warms up on the touchline, following the news he will leave at the end of the season.

On the pitch, Oliver Skipp regains possession and Spurs are away - but referee Jarred Gillett blows for a foul. The Tottenham players are furious.
