Brentford will of course be without talisman Ivan Toney for the foreseeable future, after the striker was been banned from football for eight months after accepting breaking Football Association betting rules.

Toney has also been charged £50,000 and warned about his future conduct for 232 breaches of the FA's betting rules.

His suspension starts immediately, but the 27-year-old can return to training with Brentford four months before it ends on 17 September.

However, he will not be allowed to play again until 17 January, 2024.

"I make no further comment at this point other than to thank my family and friends, Brentford FC and our fans for their continued support, through what has been a very difficult time," Toney said.

"I now focus on returning to play the game I love next season."

Tottenham host Brentford in our early kick-off today, with Spurs needing a win to keep alive their hopes of securing Europa League football.

Spurs, in seventh, are one point behind Brighton - having played one game more than the Seagulls.

The teams that finish fifth and sixth in the Premier League are guaranteed a place in the Europa League, because FA Cup finalists Manchester City and Manchester United will finish in the top six.

Meanwhile, the team who finish seventh will go into the Europa Conference League play-offs, because Carabao Cup winners Manchester United are guaranteed at least a Europa League spot through the league or FA Cup.

There's been plenty of speculation surrounding Harry Kane's future and many fans fear today could be his last home match for Tottenham.

The local boy has just over a year left on his Spurs contract but was close to leaving last summer.

A mural has gone up for Kane across the road from the stadium and there were people queuing up to get a photo in front of it.

"He's one of our own" it read, alongside smaller words celebrating his all-time goalscoring record for the club.

It would be fitting if he scored today to give the fans something to celebrate in what's been a disappointing season.

There are four changes for Tottenham from last Saturday's defeat to Aston Villa.

Defender Cristian Romero and midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg are not in the squad - presumably with injuries - so in comes Davinson Sanchez and Yves Bissouma.

Pedro Porro is replaced by Arnaut Danjuma, while Dejan Kulusevski is back in for Richarlison.

Eric Dier and Japhet Tanganga are both in the squad, named as substitutes, after recovering from minor injuries.

Tottenham XI: Forster, Skipp, Sanchez, Son, Kane, Royal, Danjuma, Kulusevski, Davies, Lenglet, Bissouma.

Subs: Austin, Richarlison, Perisic, Dier, Porro, Tanganga, Moura, Sarr, Craig.

Thomas Frank makes just one change to the Brentford XI who beat West Ham in their last Premier League match.

Mikkel Damsgaard drops to the bench and is replaced by Frank Onyeka.

Ivan Toney, following the announcement of his eight-month ban from football, is obviously not in the squad.

Brentford XI: Raya, Hickey, Henry, Pinnock, Jensen, Schade, Wissa, Onyeka, Mee, Mbeumo, Janelt.

Subs: Strakosha, Dasilva, Zanka, Ghoddos, Ajer, Damsgaard, Baptiste, Roeslev, Trevitt.

Pontus Jansson, Keane Lewis-Potter and Christian Norgaard remain sidelined for Brentford.

For Spurs, defenders Eric Dier and Japhet Tanganga could return after both were absent with minor issues last weekend.

Rodrigo Bentancur and Ryan Sessegnon will be available next season, while captain Hugo Lloris has played his last game for the club.

Meanwhile, Manchester United will be looking to keep a top four spot out of Liverpool's reach as the race for European places heats up.

    • Bournemouth v Manchester United
    • Fulham v Crystal Palace
