It really doesn't look like a 1-0 game, it really doesn't. And it doesn't feel like it.

Two teams are going to attack each other, and could get lots of goals.

Problem for Arsenal is that they already look vulnerable to the counter attack.

Felipe and Joe Worral combine really well to stop Gabriel Jesus from finding space inside the box, Taiwo Awoniyi is then booked for a foul on Gabriel as he tries to get away on the counter.

A lot of eyebrows were raised when Forest spent £25m plus add-ons to sign Morgan Gibbs-White from Wolves in the summer.

But Gibbs-White has really hit top form over the last few weeks and he got his timing just right to set up Taiwo Awoniyi for the goal.

Have Arsenal the desire to come back.

There is a lot riding on this game at both ends of the table.

If things stay as they are then Nottingham Forest will secure safety with the win and Manchester City will be Premier League champions without kicking a ball.

There is of course a long way to go.

You could see it building up from 40-50 yards until Gibbs-White played it through.

If the Ramsdale reads it there, he may come out a bit quicker. But when he eventually gets there he is only seven yards out.

A bit fortunate with the bounce that went in his favour when he ran into Gabriel, but he won't care. A great finish from Awoniyi.

    Taiwo Awoniyi

    The City Ground goes wild!

It starts from a rare Martin Odegaard error as he passes the ball straight to Morgan Gibbs-White, who charges forward before slipping the ball through to Taiwo Awoniyi. Gabriel attempts to clear but succeeds only in hitting the ball against Awoniyi's leg and it goes into the back of the net.

Five goals in his last three games for Awoniyi. He has been key to their survival bid.

Peter: Rumours that the new Arsenal team dog "Win", will soon be renamed "Unwin" are hopefully untrue

Pete: Lots of good things from Arsenal this season - harshly judged now, due to their impressive first half-season. Do wonder if some of Arteta's methods cause team burnouts along the way, and wish we'd kept Guendouzi + Torreira

I don't think forest will get another point this season . Leeds beat West Ham for survival, Everton survival last day.

Moussa Niakhaté suffers a really unfortunate injury as his leg is caught by a falling Martin Odegaard, who lost his balance after making an awkward pass.

Niakhaté is receiving treatment and it looks like he will be okay to continue. He will have to go off for this corner, however...

  13. 'The mentality was fantastic'published at 17:42 British Summer Time 20 May 2023

    FT: Wolves 1-1 Everton

    Everton

Everton manager Sean Dyche, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "We’ll see [how important a point it was]. I thought the mentality was fantastic, with the changes we had to make in terms of personnel and shape.

"At half-time it’s about what you say [to the players], the good stuff they’ve been doing. Players can change events, not just tactics. You end up with one of your centre-halves showing calmness and the other knocking it into the back of the net.

"I’m really, really pleased with the mentality of the players. We’re stretched as you can be as a squad, but the mentality is to take on the next challenge, which is the last game of the season.

"You can’t sign up to be a professional footballer and want all the good stuff all the time. You have to fight to get yourself in to the Premier League. We're going to fight to stay there."

On the amount of stoppage time: "Everyone seemed to be getting injured, cramp and all those things. We ended up pushing people forward and getting ourselves a goal.

The obvious flaw with the inverted right-back system is the gap it leaves behind with a loss of possession.

Thomas Partey was in a central position when Nottingham Forest tried to counter just then but Bukayo Saka read the move and was too quick for Renan Lodi and was able to get the ball back to Aaron Ramsdale.

Saka just needs to be aware.

I think Arsenal would have expected the physical start from Forest but no side can keep that up for 90 minutes.

I think they are looking to ride out this first five-10 minutes and then space will start to open up and they can begin playing.

Arsenal appear to have worked through the enthusiastic Nottingham Forest start and are now enjoying a good spell of possession, patiently trying to work an opening.

Martin Odegaard slips the ball through for Gabriel Jesus but Keylor Navas is alert to the danger and off his line quickly to smother the ball.

The physicality of this Forest side is very old school.

It's as if Forest have said 'No, they won't fancy that today. They won't win the league so lets put them under pressure physically and see if they can cope with it'.

Bournemouth manager Gary O'Neil: "It was a big improvement from us, although we conceded a soft goal in a fairly even game.

"We are on 39 points, I'm very proud of the guys. The fans have been huge. We have been succesful this year but have lost a lot of matches so for the fans to ride it with us and be with us is massive. We appreciate them."

Nottingham Forest's fans have been quick to remind their Arsenal counterparts about their illustrious history.

'Champions of Europe, you'll never sing that," sang the Trent End.

Arsenal lost their only final, to Barcelona.

Forest won it twice under Brian Clough.
