Brighton win their fourth corner of the game that is swung in and met by Lewis Dunk, who can only steer his header wide.

Billy Gilmour is having a really good game. He steps away from a man in midfield and sends the ball Joao Pedro's way. The forward is fouled by Fabian Schar, who gets a booking.

Brighton pump the ball long and it is a straight battle between Kaoru Mitoma and Kieran Trippier. The latter wins out thanks to a foul by the former.

Kaoru Mitoma is not just an attacking machine. He's a grafter too.

Miguel Almiron is waiting for a ball to drop his way in the box, but who is there first to win it? Yep, Mitoma.

Brilliant from Kaoru Mitoma. He chest down a ball fired across the field to him from the left and in one movement flicks it to set off.

There are purrs of appreciation from the home crowd.

Sadly, Pervis Estupinan is unable to find anyone with his low ball after he is handed possession.

Newcastle remain a threat themselves.

David Brooks speaking to PLP after the game: "I think both teams will be disappointed at the start of the game with a point and where we found ourselves in the 90th minute we have to hang them games out. I think we hung back too deep and let them come onto us, so yes disappointed with a point."

On Andoni Iraola and the squad: "Obviously we will get better as time goes on as we are not the finished article, we know how the gaffer wants us to play so we just need to see the game out and it would have been a great result then.

"I think we are still a work in progress we need to start better, but the gaffer said that to us and we didn't really implement it. If we can iron them things out we can get a better foothold of the game."

On returning to the top flight and scoring after having cancer: "It is my passion to play football, to put everything behind me and get back on the pitch and to help the team with a goal it's what I dreamed about when I was ill, so yes to be back and doing it it is a really nice feeling."

Eddie Howe looks concerned. And so he should. Brighton look dangerous whenever they come forward.

On the plus side for the visitors, they've had chances.

Brighton charge forward again for another attack that ends with Joao Pedro blazing over.

Solly March was in acres of space to his right and looks utterly disgusted that he wasn't found.

Anthony Gordon does really well to weave towards the Brighton box to set up Joelinton, but his low shot goes wide.

Joelinton is sniffing around as Newcastle fire the ball into the Brighton box, but he has two home defenders for company and they come out on top.
