  1. 'I can see City hitting Arsenal with a sucker-punch'published at 16:14 British Summer Time 8 October 2023

Arsenal v Man City (16:30 BST)

Arsenal will still be dangerous without Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka, but you'd give them far more of a chance if they were coming into this game at full tilt.

City's squad is stretched too and their striker Erling Haaland is having something of a quiet spell with only one goal in his past four games, but I certainly wouldn't write him off.

Even if City don't play that well, they are resilient and I can see them hitting Arsenal with a sucker-punch - yes they lost twice last week, but they won't lose too many more games this season.

    Sutton's prediction: 1-2

  2. 'You don't want to play City when they are angry'published at 16:11 British Summer Time 8 October 2023

Arsenal v Man City (16:30 BST)

    Dion Dublin
Former England striker on Football Focus

I think this is a tougher match to call than normal. You would normally say City, but Arsenal have seemed to ‘click’, they have a good manager, there seems to be harmony within the football club, the players are enjoying their football. City had a bit of a blip, bit when they have those blips they are still as good as most other teams in the league, so for them it is about getting back to their high standards so they can dominate games how they want to.

You may not want to be the side to come up against this Man City side when they are angry. It was the case with United and Liverpool years ago that they were the team on top, and now it is City, if you make them angry, they fight their way out of that corner with goals.

  3. 'Both sides should be confident'published at 16:11 British Summer Time 8 October 2023

Arsenal v Man City (16:30 BST)

    Rachel Brown-Finnis
    Ex-England goalkeeper on Football Focus

Arsenal don’t have a great record against City, but a few players are injured, they are looking a little vulnerable, but I am clutching at straws. City are definitely in the driving seat, Arsenal at home. Both sides will be confident going into this.

  4. 'We showed great character'published at 16:10 British Summer Time 8 October 2023

    FT: Brighton 2-2 Liverpool

    Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton captain Lewis Dunk speaking to Sky Sports: "I think we were the better side throughout and then we had a funny five minutes. We have got to be better than that. We have shown great character to come back and get the draw."

"Sloppiness from us [let Liverpool take the lead]. I gave the ball away cheaply and they capitalised on that. We have to keep improving, keep learning and get better. After the defeat we have come back and got the draw today. It's just that final bit that the moment. We are a little bit off."

Lucky to keep 11 players on the pitch? "No not really. I think I was covering and there were others covering. We had a good 40 minutes and a mad five minutes that killed us at the end of the half. I think we did well in the second half."

  5. 'You have to be ready to take your chance'published at 16:09 British Summer Time 8 October 2023

Brighton midfielder Simon Adingra speaking to Sky Sports: "It is a very good point for us today. After last match, it is a very good point.

"I think it is for the team you have to be ready all the time, when I am given my chance.

"It was a good point for us after the loss last week. The point today, in front of our fans, is good."

  7. 'We have been entertained'published at 16:06 British Summer Time 8 October 2023

    FT: Brighton 2-2 Liverpool

    Steve Sidwell
Former Villa and Brighton midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

You could tell both managers were going for it and we have been entertained here.

I would say De Zerbi is [the] happier [of the two managers], having come off the back of the drubbing at Aston Villa last week. There were some mistakes but you're going to get that, playing this way.

Three draws but three entertaining games and there's one more mouth-watering fixture to come as Arsenal host defending champions Manchester City. That kicks off in just under 30 minutes.

  9. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:03 British Summer Time 8 October 2023

    Wolves 1-1 Aston Villa

A frantic, wild end to what was a hard-fought game.

Wolves ended it with 10 men, but will likely feel they have the chances to win it before that.

They'll be glad for a point based on the way it ended.

  10. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 16:03 British Summer Time 8 October 2023

    Wolves 1-1 Aston Villa

    Unbelievable!

The last act of the game is a cross from the left that Ollie Watkins rises highest to smash a header against the base of the post.

    Inches from three points.

    Massive save!

Villa are throwing everything at Wolves. They work it wide left for Nicolo Zaniolo, who finds Ezri Konsa in space in the middle for a shot on the turn that Jose Sa does brilliantly to block.

  15. Postpublished at 15:59 British Summer Time 8 October 2023

    Close!

A Villa corner is flicked on to the back post where Nicolo Zaniolo is waiting to side-foot an effort back across goal and just wide of the far post.

  16. Postpublished at 15:58 British Summer Time 8 October 2023

    Chance!

All over and all square. A topsy turvy game but perhaps a fair result.

  20. FULL-TIMEpublished at 15:55 British Summer Time 8 October 2023

    Brighton 2-2 Liverpool

An entertaining, see-saw game ends 2-2.

Could have gone either way. A draw is about fair, I reckon.
