Erling Haaland hasn't seen much of the ball but his fourth touch of the game is to hold the ball up and bring Julian Alvarez into play, but the forward lashes a shot high over the bar from just outside the box.
FT: Brighton 2-2 Liverpool
Liverpool
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp speaking to Match of the Day: "I really like what they [Brighton] do. Anyhow, if we are a little bit better today, and I think we could have been better., We should have won the game. In our good moments we didn't score enough and Brighton give us problems but they didn't create a lot. Each goal is frustration so who cares about how."
On Mac Allister: "The most difficult ting to do is to make a mistake against your old team and then come back in the game like he did.
"We want to press them high. Maybe our timing wasn't great. There were situations close when we were nearly there and then the challenge in a footballers life is to keep going. The boys got pretty much their reward for the effort they put in. Putting teams under pressure is important and then that's how it is. Mistakes happen.
"Second half we played outstanding attack ended up with Ryan Gravenberch nailing the crossbar. I don't think Brighton would have given up but it would have helped us for sure. Everyone who came on, it was hard to get the rhythm of the game and so it's a draw. That's it."
FT: Brighton 2-2 Liverpool
Brighton & Hove Albion
Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi speaking to Sky Sports: "Really pleased for the performance. It is still a great result when you don't lose to Liverpool but if you watch the game and watch who played better I think we deserve more points. We concede two goals in the end of the first half I think because we are very young and we made two mistakes. It is not a problem.
"Brighton played with personality, with courage, with clear idea and a lot of young players Really pleased for the performance, for the quality of the performance. For the personality and the courage but if we improve in two or three things. To understand the situation can change, we could win. In this game, I think we played better and when we play like today, we can ask ourselves to win the game.
"We are trying to put inside the new players, like Adingra, like Baleba, Joao Pedro and Ansu Fati - it is not easy. We lost some important players like Mac Allister and now we have to find the balance. We have to find the same page for everyone and I think we showed character and the right attitude and things as important as the style of play."

Nick: That Kovacic “tackle” was disgusting. Once again the VAR too cowardly to make a decision against Man City. 100% of that was Xhaka last season he would have seen red.
Dan: Hahahahahhaha much worse than Curtis Jones' last week and not overturned by VAR. "I can't do anything" correct, you can't, you're utterly useless.

Martin Odegaard swings a free-kick into the box and Ederson drops it initially but gathers at the second attempt.
Arsenal 0-0 Man City
Pep Guardiola was full of praise for Rico Lewis following the 3-1 victory over RB Leipzig in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
That performance earned the 18-year-old a starting place at Emirates Stadium today, where he has so far been operating as part of Manchester City's front line.
Only Julian Alvarez has taken up a more advanced average position for City than Lewis (number 82) after almost half an hour here.

Ryan: City are overcompensating KDB and Rodri’s absences by looking too intense and desperate.
Matty: Kovacic has got away with one there. I go back to 'if that was Granit Xhaka'...

It's the two top sides and it was always going to be a little bit like this [cagey]. I think we expected that.
Arsenal 0-0 Man City
The tackle by Mateo Kovacic does look bad on the replay, but not bad enough to be deemed sending off worthy.
If we had them, it would be an orange card.
Arsenal 0-0 Man City
Martin Odegaard is caught on the back of the leg by Mateo Kovacic and the Manchester City man is booked.
VAR is having a look if it should be something more, however.
Arsenal 0-0 Man City
Martin Odegaard can sense the nervousness in the crowd and he waves his hands in the air to try and motivate them. It prompts a chant of "Arsenal, Arsenal" and a roar as Arsenal come forward again.

David: Raya looking nervous and has not been covering himself in glory recently. Arteta was the one suggesting he could substitute the goalkeeper during the game. Does he have the courage of his convictions to do so today?
Tom: If Arteta doesn't sub Raya he's cutting his nose off to spite his face. He's going to cost them at some point today, swallow your pride and sub him.
Arsenal 0-0 Man City
Too many mistakes at the back for Arsenal and, in particular, David Raya, as he hits a pass straight to Manchester City players on the edge of the area, but the visitors ultimately can't capitalise.

Arsenal keeper David Raya - again selected ahead of Aaron Ramsdale - has been very edgy. He has misjudged a corner and has been poor with the ball at his feet.
He will know he has just had a very big let off there in that incident with Julian Alvarez and the nervousness has spread to Arsenal's fans.

It is very clear that Pep has said, 'you have got to stop this player'. If you stop him, it is clear that Gvardiol has been told that as soon as Jesus gets the ball, get tight.
Arsenal 0-0 Man City
Phil Foden flicks out a boot to try and control a ball over the top but he just can't quite reach.
This sort of match is all about who can make the fewest mistakes and, so far, it is Manchester City who are looking the more comfortable.
