Sean Dyche went to a 5-2-2 formation at half time. He's left Doucoure up top alongside Calvert-Lewin, and you wondered whether they would get outnumbered in the middle area.

They are starting to lose that battle now, Liverpool are still finding it hard to create clear cut opportunities though.

When they have gotten through the middle, James Tarkowski has been outstanding back there for Everton, two huge blocks back to back to keep the home side out.

Ryan Gravenberch slides it through to Luis Diaz but it's marshalled out by Amadou Onana.

The two are running at speed towards the advertising boards and Diaz slides into them, while Onana topples over it.

Jordan Pickford helps up Diaz, while Onana is carefully lifted back over. Both are OK, thankfully.

A bit of defending for Liverpool to do now as Ibrahima Konate heads away a cross before James Garner blasts it miles over.

A quick VAR review as Liverpool appeal for handball in the box. Nothing given.

Diogo Jota's cross is blocked by Jarrad Branthwaite and falls kindly for Mohamed Salah.

He's got space to shoot but James Tarkowski makes an excellent block.

The rebound is struck nicely by Ryan Gravenberch but again, Tarkowski is there. Unbelievable defending!

Ibrahima Konate is shown an easy yellow for stopping Amadou Onana, just as Everton had potential to break. No complaints.

James Garner nicks it off Trent Alexander-Arnold momentarily but Ibrahima Konate helps his team-mate out.

No surprise to see changes for Everton at the break after going down to 10 men.

Dwight McNeil and Jack Harrison are replaced by Michael Keane and Nathan Patterson.

That suggests Everton are going to five at the back.

Andy: We keep going on about consistency, Young 2 fouls, 2 yellows, Tsimikas 4 fouls not even booked!? There is your gulf for you, how is that in anyway explicable or justifiable? Apparently the ref has also never booked a LFC player.

Javel: Liverpool about ten 35-metre shots over the bar so far. That will suit Everton.
