Chris: Flying back home and the flight is delayed so I'm about to miss most of the game. As an Everton fan, I'm not sure if it's a good or a bad thing?

As expected, 76% possession so far for Liverpool. They have created a few chances, but Everton had that earlier header from Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Virgin van Dijk has just put it out for a corner to stop Dwight McNeil too.

Everton manager Sean Dyche is very animated on that touchline, much more so than usual in the early stages.

He seems to be gesturing to Abdoulaye Doucoure to come in-field a bit more and get closer to Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

L: I don’t want to jinx it but also people forget that the one Merseyside derby Klopp has lost was right in the middle of the horror injury crisis where Henderson and Kabak were our starting centre-backs.

Trent Alexander-Arnold curls a great ball down the line for Mohamed Salah.

His touch looked heavy but he manages to poke it on to Luis Diaz. Jordan Pickford slips as he starts to sprint out but recovers in time to beat Diaz to it.

A Liverpool chance created by the three midfielders.

Alexis MacAllister fizzes it into the feet of Ryan Gravenberch. He touches it on to Dominik Szoboszlai and he flicks it on to Mohamed Salah.

Salah completely miscues the shot but the flag is up for offside anyway.

  20. 'You have to also play the crowd at Anfield'published at 12:24 British Summer Time 21 October 2023

    Liverpool v Everton (12:30 BST)

    Alan Shearer
Former England striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Sean Dyche will be looking for a tight performance from his side today, particularly going to Anfield and the occasion that it will be. You've got to also play the crowd.

Dyche knows that Liverpool will be after them in the first 15-20 minutes and the fans will be right up for it. So for them to be able to get something out of this game they need to manage that first, quieten the noise and go from there.
